---------------

To: SPENCER JONES

It's going to be the school festival soon. I was thinking if we could maybe go together, see you there at 4 p.m. <3

From: LILLY WHITE

-------------

I did it. Finally, I've sent that text. Finally I sent it to the person like. Me, the plain girl with glasses did it.

I could feel the blush spread across my face as I held my cheeks. If he, the smartest, neat, well-mannered boy in the whole school really accepted my invitation...

• he'd propose wearing a bunny suit

• we'd get married in Germany

• in a church by a big oak tree

• we'd get a pet bunny

• move to New York

• our child would...

That's just my imagination, I really need to go for a brainwash. I have to forget that stuff. He'd probably ignore me if he found out what I've been thinking in my head. Now all I have to do is wait for him to come.

"Sorry for making you wait." I hear a voice speak from behind. The color in my face drains.

It isn't Spencer's beautiful blonde hair, his innocent blue eyes, no glasses and not his neatly tucked in collar. This isn't Spencer!

Brown hair and a rather dark and scary expression, this is James Martin!

The scariest delinquent in the school!

"Uh... I-... S-..." I stutter in fear. I looked at him straight in the eye and I felt chills run down my spine. He was so scary I could see a dark aura surrounding him!

"Sorry." I manage to say as I quickly turn around. I felt a hand rest on my shoulder.

"Wait."

"What are you doing! Let me go!" I shout struggling from his grip.

"BUT THEN YOU'LL RUN AWAY!"

"No! Let go!"

"What business do you have with her?" a new, familiar and soothing voice says.

Spencer!

Spencer takes James's hand off my shoulder.

"Wha-" James begins, "I'm the one who was invited!"

He pulls his phone out of one of his pockets and shows Spencer and I my text message. I stare at it in shock.

Their numbers are so similar! I must have swapped the 0 to a 6, I really need to improve my handwriting.

Without and another word James grabs my hand and drags me with him, "Let's go!"

"Wait! Stop let go!" I yell.

James shakes his head. "No, I definitely have to say it to you today!" he says and stops. He whips his head around.

"ACTUALLY I'VE ALWAYS HAVE HAD AN INTEREST IN YOU!" he cries like a little kid.

My eyes open wide and I look at him. He quickly bends down ad hides his face. I could see blush spreading across his face.

"When I got that text I was so happy..." he says, his voice muffled by his hand covers it.

"Actually I sent it- "

"James!" I hear a wail as two boys dressed as waiters run up to us.

"It's going horribly! We have a big problem!" they both yell at the exact same time.
