After what seemed like an hour, I finally found a place to park. This festival must be huge.
"Look at all the people!" Abbey pointed to everyone, almost looking anxious. I begin to feel my own wave of anxiety.
"Oh great!" I say sarcastically.
"Oh, lighten up! Besides, you might even meet... someone special.." She winks and teases me. I sigh and we get out of the car. We head over to the huge crowds of people when we notice something.
"Oh now way!" I exclaim.
"What is it?"
"It's a rock festival!"
"Dude! Hell yeah!" We high five and run off looking for people who seem like our own kind. We see almost every stereotype you can think of. Odd how diverse one's music taste can be. However, there's one stereotype that of course stands out above all, not to mention the fact they are at least 70% of the people here. Metal Heads!! We run across a particular group to realize it's our friends from school!
"Hey guys!" I greet them.
"Hey!" They respond in unison, greeting me and Abbey with a group hug.
The day goes on great. Mosh pits, death walls, dark humor.. God, I love these people..
Soon enough, lunch rolls around. We all decide to head to a nearby McDonald's. As I head to the car, I trip over someone's feet and fall face first, catching myself at the last second.
"Ugh! Watch where you're going you fre-" the mysterious voice cuts off. I get up and dust myself off and look at the person at fault. We meet eyes. Holy shit! He's cute! my thoughts get cut off. "I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there! Are you okay?!"
"Yea.. I'm fine. You are?"
"Name's Erik. Erik Landerson." He holds out a hand for me to shake, "And you?"
"Reba Andrews."
"It's a pleasure to meet you M'Lady." He shakes my hand.
"Well you're quite the gentlemen."
"Only to those who are worth my time." I look at the group after Erik says this. They all give me thumbs up. Abbey walks over.
"We'll be waiting at the car. Come when you're ready," she whispers
"Kay," I whisper back. She walks off. "So... What are you doing here?"
"I didn't really have a reason. I guess I just felt the need, but now I know why," he smiles. Erik is very interesting. He has flippy black hair, spider bite piercings, a nose ring, and gauges. He's wearing a black and grey flannel, black ripped skinny jeans, and of course original black and white converse. He's cute.
"So, would you want my number so that we could stay in contact?"
"Yes." I give him my number and he gives me his.
"Well my friends are waiting up. I should get going." I smile, "It was nice to meet you."
"Oh ok. It's fine. Nice to meet you, too." We share a smile and I start to walk off as I hear him yell behind me, "Text me later!" I give him a wave of my hand and catch up to my friends.
"Looks like Reba's got a crush!!" Abbey teases along with a bunch of "awe"'s from our friend group. I blush and stutter.
"N-no I don't! SHhhhhhhhhh! What if he hears you! He's right over there!" My face turns redder as I look back to see Erik staring at me. He must've heard the whole thing because he started to walk over. Abbey was pushing me towards him. I reluctantly went with it.
"So, Reba..-" I cut him off.
"You heard the whole thing didn't you?" I look at my feet. I'm surprised when I feel arms wrap around me.
"Yes I did." He breaks the hug and lifts my chin up. "So I came over here to ask you.." He trails off and stands before me, getting down on one knee. I blush terribly. "Will you do the honor of going out with me?"
"Y-yes," I stutter.
"Great! Shall we?" He goes to take my hand, but I flinch.
"N-now?"
"Why not?"
A pair of hands shove me towards him forcing me into a hug. "She'd love to." Abbey speaks up, smiling.
"Okay." He smiles and takes my hand in his.
We head to his car and we drive to a park. "We're here." He looks over to me before quickly getting out to run to my side of the car and open the door for me to help me out. He reaches and closes the door behind me, locking the car. The park is surprisingly empty. He lays out a blanket under a tree.
"I'll be right back." He says before running to his car. He comes back with a bottle of rose red wine.
"You're quite the romantic." We chuckle together.
"Yes I am," he agrees as he pops the wine. He sits down and we stare at each other for a second and end up staring into each others eyes. His eyes are violet blue. They remind me of the ocean. Oh how I wish I could swim in them forever.
Instinct takes over. Before I know it, we're leaning into each other. Our lips soon press together and stick that way like glue for a while, our tongues soon dancing with each other as my fingers lace his hair. He holds the side of my face gently before I pull away.
"Wow.." He says, amazed.
"This is crazy," I laugh, "We just met today and now we're making out."
"Well did it feel right?"
"Of course."
"So that means it wasn't wrong. It just means we have mutual feelings and feel that comfortable with each other. Regardless of the time of us knowing each other."
"But wouldn't it be kind of rushed?"
"If you feel that way, we can slow down?"
"Oh. I don't care. I just don't want to fall too fast." I lean back onto the blanket now laying down. Erik follows me laying down next to me. We are facing each other.
"In my opinion, there's no such thing as falling too fast. If two hearts are compatible and loyal, not time, age, weight, height, or distance should matter." We smile together.
"I just think it's kinda crazy how fast we grew so comfy with each other."
"Let's not worry about it." He pulls me close to him and we lay there cuddling for a while.
Soon, we are ready to leave. Erik drives me back to the house. I head inside to find my mom gone for work. I head up to my room and play some video games.
