Ezra's P.O.V

BANG! "GET ON THE GROUND AND DON'T MOVE!" A guy wearing all black from head to toe yelled. Who the heck would rob a pizza place and during the day? I flinched when the guy fired the gun at a light. Making the light bulb shatter into raining pieces of glass. Some people were crying and terrified. I had to admit that I was scared too. Everyone was on the ground and I saw dad type something on his phone.

Click. A gun was loaded and ready to fire at dad's head. "If you press send, then I pull the trigger," the guy said in a deep and calm tone. The whole restaurant was watching us silently still. They were afraid that if they moved, then they would get shot at. Dad looked at me and mom. I looked over to see an employee try to work the phone.

BANG! A shot was fired and the sound of a body hit the floor. I turned back and my breathing sped up with tears in my eyes. Dad got shot. Mom covered her mouth and held onto me. I saw that he sent the message. A puddle of blood was forming around him getting bigger every second. I could see dad's face and it made me more scared. "Anyone else want to be a brave soul," the man that shot my father said. The guy grabbed the phone and smashed it. I quickly saw that the message was sent before he crushed it. Then he didn't take anything and left but was stopped by the police outside.

Me and mom crawled over to dad and saw that he was shot in the back. Mom checked for a pulse and signed in relief. "The pulse is weak but it's still there," mom said worried. I was still really scared and worried. Mom noticed and gave me hug but honestly I wanted to be in dad's hug right now.

An ambulance came and took dad to the hospital. Me and mom followed behind the medical vehicle. "Daddy, please be ok," I whispered and hoped mom didn't hear me. Tears still were falling from me and mom's eyes when we got to the hospital. She parked the Ghost and were told to sit and wait in the waiting room. I sat there and prayed for dad's safety along with mom. So we sat there and waited for a miracle or a disaster.

*couple hours later*

Hera's P.O.V

A doctor came out of the room and came over to us. "Mrs. Jarrus?" He asked and I nodded. "Kanan will be just fine but he is in a coma right now and we don't know how long he will be in it for. You can go see him if you want to," the doctor said. "Ok, thank you," I said and the doctor walked off. Me and Ezra made our way to Kanan's room. We found the room Kanan was in. We opened the door and went inside. Kanan was not wearing a shirt and had gauze wrapped around his abdomen.

Me and Ezra sat in some seats close to the bed. I put my hand on my son's shoulder and squeezed it to give some kind of comfort. He smiled at me and gave me a one arm hug. I returned the embrace and whispered, "everything is going to be fine". I saw a tear rolled down his face and said, "w-we almost l-lost him a-again". I kissed his head and rocked us a little. Sometime later, he fell asleep in my arms. I readjusted Ezra so that he was laying down in my arms to be more comfortable. I held Ezra close and Kanan's hand tight. It felt like we were a broken family but we were more mended than anything that could be held together.

I took a deep breath in and out. We were like this for a couple more minutes until my son started to stir. I saw the eyes that always dazzled me every time I saw them reappear as Ezra awoke from his nap. "Have a good nap?" I cooed. "Mommy," he said and sat back up in his chair. I always smile each time I'm called 'mommy'. It made me think that my world was almost complete until the new member arrives. A nurse came in and told us that our visiting time was over. I grabbed my things and saw Ezra holding Kanan's hand. "Do you want to say goodnight to him?" I asked Ezra. He bit his lip until his head bobbled a yes. "I'll give you 2 minutes," I said and left the room to give them space.

Third person's P.O.V

"Hey dad, please wake up soon. Me and mom really miss you even if you just were put into a coma. You could have died. Please hurry, I love you dad. Goodnight," Ezra said with tears in his eyes. He left the room and not knowing that Kanan had heard the whole thing. A reflex tear rolled down the man's face as he laid there in the bed.
