Now it's been like 2 damn years that I haven't update this book and I have gotten ALOT of people asking me to.
Once, a furious reader pmed me about this. This was like a year after my last update. Now I understand why she was mad since I know how frustrating it is to wait for an update of a book you like, so I didn't take the things she said in a negative sense. She was actually giving a very good critique of this book. This is kind of a super fucking late response to that and how I actually agree with most of these and thus decided not to continue it.
But the fact that I didn't bother to finish this even if it would've been a bad ending and didn't tell you guys, is something I regret and am ashamed of. I'm really sorry for not doing that.
These are some things she mentioned and my opinions on it.
Harry : he was a dorky but also confident and overall a good character. He made mistakes but not out of his own choices. He was a dick to taylor but he also kinda had to be. 7/10
I agree with this. He could've been better but I was not exactly a very experienced and educated writer at that time so I guess I gotta give myself some credit because he wasn't bad at all.
Taylor : boring. The way she was portrayed in this was just boring. all really does is be sad or mad. Why is she like this? Oh bc Harry and her two month relationship came to an end and he was mean to her. She had boyfriends before, and I get the whole 'he isn't like the others, this time it's true love' thing but that was already used in Harry's case. She claims she loved Calvin but then is suddenly in love with harry? No just no 5/10
I disagree with this. She may have not cracked up jokes all the time or acted super badass, but the situation she was in at that time fit with how she was. She did love Calvin and got cheated and betrayed by not only by Calvin himself but her best friend too. It's not an easy thing to be okay with. This is why she changed not because of haylor breakup. Now of course she wasn't the best character but I don't think she was that bad. Plus it was never mentioned in the story that she was suddenly in love with harry again, it was just said they shared one kiss and she started to have old feelings resurfacing.
Cara : a relatable badass character. I liked her character, she was funny but a supporting character. Thus she shouldn't be the best one. 8/10
I agree. I should have made the main two more enjoyable than a side.
Niall : literally came outta nowhere? I know he's Harry's best friend and all but why the hell should I care about his pain when I came here for haylor? We barely got to really know about him except that he's a sensitive as fuck person. It was literally a misunderstanding and he just was a total asshole to the 'love of his life'. I don't even know what to rank him but he's a side so it shouldn't really matter. 5/10.
I agree and disagree. Just because he's a side doesn't mean he shouldn't matter. At first this book was gonna be a drama celeb type thing with haylor as the main couple. Later on I focused more on the ship as I changed my decision. I agree with Niall not being a good character but that's only because I didn't give him proper screentime to shine because he's a side and I know readers just want to read haylor instead.
Selena : she was basically made into Karen frm mean girls. She's more closer to taylor and should've switched roles with cara. And her cheating on Justin? Wtf sel would never do that. Her character however was kind of silly but not over the top. It had a limit. 6/10
I disagree. This is a damn fan fiction. What they are in real life don't apply or matter. Yes a lot of this book is based on it and I expect readers to imagine them like that however it's still fiction. Justin was meant to be a very important character, actually a villain. I can't just have him doing shit because he's insane. I needed to give him a motivation thus Selena was it. For some weird reason my twelve year old ass only knew cheating as a breakup way and that's why I made Selena cheat.
Justin : Niall 2.0. Why does he even matter? Should I even rank him lmao.
5/10I agree. Because I basically left this book halfway Justin didn't become important yet. He would have mattered if i finished. It's my fault entirely.
Karlie : she came out as a bitch but the fact that kept her baby showed she had emotions. However it is because she has been portrayed as someone willing to blackmail for what she wants, I feel as if she kept the baby in order to have Calvin wrapped around her finger. This either makes her a smart villain or redeemed best friend. But that's wasted potential. Her personality? She was just a bitch with no motivation whatsoever 4/10.
I agree. I was going to make a karlie development arc but that clearly didn't happen. So yeah it does make sense why you would think that.
Calvin : hands down the most enjoyable character lmao. He was the funniest one out of them all. But he claimed he loved taylor, yet cheated on her with no motivation. That is the only thing that bothered me. His character and personality is not good however the fact that he was supposedly the villain and yet was written in such a humorously interesting way is something I loved. I would give him 10/10 but since it's a character analysis based on facts and not what I enjoyed, I'll give him a 6/10.
I don't have an opinion on this. Calvin was never meant to be the villain, just the funny asshole and I'm glad I was able to demonstrate this point.
Writing : Writing style is more like a texting. Some cases there being emojis and pictures from nowhere. The descriptions were good, chapter length was significant and pacing of the book was great. I liked how haylor met after four years and didn't suddenly jump on each other. There was development and rejection on Taylor's part.
I agree and thank you. The last chapter actually wasn't like that anymore as i had realized how stupid that writing style was.
What I actually planned :
I wanted to make Calvin and Karlie look like the antagonists then twist it revealing that it's actually the Kardashians and Justin who were the villains. They made this town for the fantasy and dreams of some celebs to come true. Everyone that threatened their fame, lives in that town now making them kinda the government of that place. Their plan was to slowly slowly stop food, electricity and water supply. Then make it seem like someone else's fault and kill everyone in that town without facing any casualties. Justin however would have turned on them as soon as he found out but because he wanted revenge against Selena he joined them. He was friends with everyone else and since Selena wanted to get him back so bad he was the perfect mole for the plan. All of this would have happened while Haylor would be the main ship. The point of Gigi was that she was a very successful supermodel threatening Kendall's position and thus she was kidnapped and trapped in this town. But they needed a good story to hide this and so faked her death. Niall's relevance is of the fact that him and Gigi actually had a thing. There would've kind of been a second love triangle, a more tolerable one making more sense involving Niall Gigi and Cara. But I realized that you all don't really care about side characters and just want to read Haylor.
I don't know if I'll be continuing this? I really have no idea. It's really up to you guys.
But thank you for reading this, and voting. This book almost has 1k votes and 6k reads and that is just amazing. Thank you so so much.
