Lizs' heart beat loudly in her ears.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Over and over.
Again and again.
It was all she could hear as she prepared for the first Quidditch match ever. She couldn't see her hair changing from purple to yellow to fleuro pink and back to purple. She couldn't hear the cheers and yells of her fellow Gryffindors just outside, nor the jeers and cat calls of the Slytherins, which was probably for the best. She couldn't see the smirk of the flirtatious show off; James Sirius Potter, or the pale face of first year Lily Potter preparing her eyes for the snitch about to be released. Liz started taking deep breathes when her best friend Roxanne Weasley came and gave her a bone crushing hug,"Breathe Liz you've got this! I'm sure you'll shoot every goal!"
"Come on you've been playing beater with Fred for a year already, what if I forget how to fly all of a sudden or can't catch James' throws?' Liz replied.
"Well I will buy you some zonko's treats and give them to you in the hospital wing, even if you're unconscious, I can still shove them down your throat."
Roxanne wasn't very helpful when it comes to pep talks, Liz glared at her and decided to look around. Rose, Gryffindor keeper, was reading a book to no ones surprise, Fred and James (other beater, and chaser) were goofing around while Alice Longbottom and Lily (chaser and seeker) were whispering and calming each other down. Everything looked normal and this really calmed Liz too because she was anything but normal. Slowly her hair turned back to its usual Weasley red. When everyone was ready they grabbed their brooms and walked out onto the pitch. Deafened by the shouts of the crowd they mounted their brooms and waited as James and the other quidditch captain shook hands. Waiting until that dreaded time where their hair flew back into the wind and the game would begin. And then Liz heard it. The whistle.
'Here we go!' She thought as she took to the sky." James you idiot!" Yelled Roxanne as James dropped the quaffle. He turned on his broom and shot Roxanne a hurt look before turning his attention back to the game.
Liz rolled her eyes at her friends antics and dived after the falling quaffle.
But first to get there was blonde haired Scorpius Malfoy. She cursed under her breath but pulled her broom up, making to chase after him. Lily was above them with her red hair blowing about in the wind, Albus was up there too, in contrast his hair a dark messy black that would never stay down. He was facing off with his sister. Come to think of it, half of the quiddich team had red hair!
Liz tore after Scorpius yelling at the beaters to please hit the living daylights out of him.Roxanne obliged, sending a bludger with a resounding whack after Scorpius. Just before it made contact Scorpius sped up, the bludger just scraping his shoulder. None the less he dropped the quaffle and Alice Longbottom picked it up speeding towards the Slytherin goal. Lucky for the Gryffindors no penalty was given. She was halfway across the field before she passed it to Liz. Time seemed to slow down as it flew through the air towards her. She reached out fingers stretching towards it. Then she had it, she tucked it securely in her arm and she was off. Zooming through the air dodging oncoming Slytherins and bludgers. Fred beat away one such bludger saving her neck. She was in front of the hoops yet she still didn't have a clear shot. She arched desperately for ether James or Alice. There, James calling out for the quaffle. He had a clear shot. Liz passed the ball to James who caught it and in one swift motion threw the ball into the hoop. SCORE!!!
The Gryffindors stood up cheering and yelling at the top of there lungs, drowning out the groans of the Slytherin.
James whooped and flew up into an upside down arch, showing off. Liz spotted something fall out of his pocket. It caught the sun with a flash of gold. It seemed to be turning over and over in the wind. Before Liz could fly over and catch it or even figure out what it was, a bludger flew past her ear, barley missing it. She turned to see who had beat it at her. She missed seeing the bludger colliding with the golden thing and missed it bursting into millions of peaces, coating her, James, Albus, Alice, Rose, Fred, Roxanne, Lilly and Scorpius in a fine layer of dust. Liz saw herself flying away.... backwards!
Time seemed to go in reverse, faster and faster until it became a colourful blur. Quiddich match after match was played again and again, always in reverse. Time was slowing down and Liz saw tall bushes like a maze ungrow, grow and ungrow themselves again.
Again matches played until it was dark at night.
And there was not a soul to be seen.
Time came to stop and the group of teenagers fell from the sky.
