It's know midnight. I'm wide awake so I crack open my window and sit down with the book I've been reading. Paper Towns by John Green, I read it over and over.
"Evening Alice," Dawson says as he hops through my window.
"Let me guess. I could knock or use my key, but I see a window open on the second story. I'll just pull a Spider-Man and climb up the side of the wall." I say putting my bookmark in.
"Read my mind," he says with a smirk, "Paper Towns again?"
"Yes, again. Since John Green died of terminal lung cancer it's all I've been reading." He just stares at me for a moment in a daze. "So why are you here at such a late hour in the night?"
"What? Oh! Right. I found something in the woods on a walk. Get your CD player."
I pull out an ancient thing we stole from a museum. He pulls out a case covered in dirt, and clicks it open. He pulls out a disc and puts it in. I press play, and some awesome guitar strums.
"This must be the music our grand parents used to listen to." I say, as a voice howls. "I love this."
"It really is great." He says looking at me. "I like the lyrics."
"I like the drums." I say and he grins.
"Daughter of a drummer for the town band likes the drums. Who would have suspected?"
I stick out my tongue playfully. "Gonna get to sleep, feel free to stay but I'm not much fun to talk to when I m asleep."
He nods and hops out the window with a short "later." I pass out as soon as he leaves the room.
