The Wheel
There are six sections on it. Please take a seat everyone. Thank you. Directly to the right of us, you'll see the mountains. You can go there if you want to, but it's dangerous and cold and windy. You'd probably die. But the ice cream man lives there, so if you're feeling particularly hungry...ok
Just to the right of the mountains is a drop of about a couple of hundred meters and, wow, that waterfall is LOUD today. Looks like a million falling crystals. Which become the river which becomes the lake which becomes the sea. The sea is wild..it's almost a presence. It can't be tamed, or ever truly known. But what we do know is that the water gives life to all of us. The marshland creatures and the birds of the sky and the roaming cats of the desert and everything in between that, they all drink from the water which flows here. And so that completes the second section and we continue on.
Northeast of where we are standing is the grassland. Also called the meadow. It's never-ending. You could live off it for centuries–if you ate grass... Yes... You can walk into the grassland, but you'll never get anywhere beyond it. Walk for weeks and all you'll ever see is grass, the horizon, maybe some grazing wild mares, perhaps a wild cat or two. But that's if you walk straight. If you walk East, eventually you'll reach the desert. That place is... Yeah, wow, that place is not somewhere you want to be, ya know, it's like death, except all stretched out and cracked and dry. Everything is dry, the air, the ground, the humor. Mr. Beavertail's the only person known who lives there. And sure, he's got a lot to say, but he's never smiled, not once. All he does is dig holes in the sand and stroke his pet fox.... Even the sky in the desert is a dusty color and the sun fills half the sky almost suffocating you. I know, I know, it's terrible. Just a fun fact here for you, um, when there's an execution, the condemned lady or gentleman is flown out into the middle of the desert section and they bake there for weeks and weeks in the scorching sun until they're black husks. Slow and painful. Unless the desert cats get em first, now that's not rare by any means. Anyhow, next to the desert...huh?... Oh!! Yes. Just FYI, if you do go into the desert and you see some little children lying there on the ground, don't worry about them, they're just resting there, on the edge. Yes, really, they're fine. Now onto the tundra.
This is the ice cream man's garden. And it's full of icy windstorms and nasty demonic creatures that nest in the glaciers and just when you think you're gonna get yourself some tasty mint chocolate chip.. BAAM.. hahaa..they're like possessed Venus flytraps. The ice cream man owns them though, so don't make him angry during your stay. He's a cagey guy, so there's not much we really know about the tundra. There beyond that hill, though is the ice skating rink, um, every year, we have a little festival and there's an ice skating contest with the kids and the little ones, it's cute, really. We've only had, I think ten kids lost to the ice demons? Sharon, do you know? Yeah just ten, so.. perfectly safe. Anyway, moving on, moving on. Oooh my favorite part. Well, second favorite. The forest section. There are many forests in the section, ya know rainforests, deciduous, coniferous to name a few. Yeah, yeah, you name it, we got it. There are an indefinite number of species of animals in the forest section. It's like a huge mass of vegetation and animals living in... well living together, um, with the circle of life and everything. But the animals don't hurt us because we don't destroy the forest which is their home. Yeah, who knew?! The Queen, actually is in an agreement with them, ya know, she leaves the forests to do as they will, and the animals in the forests don't bother us, so all is well.
Ok guys look ahead, we're coming back around to the hub of the wheel, and you probably already know, but the hub is home of the Queen, her immediate family and subjects and whatnot. Really, she keeps her business quiet mostly, but she allows visitors and guests to come to the hub at any time. As we should all know, though, the castle is absolutely off limits. You can see, there is a lot of diversity when you're looking at the architecture. For example, um, to our right, we can see some Victorian style houses and, oh! over on the left–yes, turn left–as you can see here are some colorful houses which, some of you may recognize as models of the beautiful, historic homes in New Orleans. Those are just a few, you know, there are hundreds more, I could go on for days. Up here down the street a bit we can see some small country houses and a bakery and look there's the park! It's strange, the birds just gather here all the time and flit about the castle like butterflies all year round. And there you have it, the butterfly gardens and the parks are to your left and—ooh, oh no. I'm sorry folks I'm going to have to stop the tour here, ummm, it seems that one of the ice demons has crawled out of its burrow and is... Yes, yes. Section... Yes I know. Ok. Well, I'm speaking to the guests I'll be right there.. Ladies and gentlemen, feel free to wander around the hub as you like, just don't go to another section without a guide... Yes, yes I'm coming.. Well folks, my name Lewis King and you have been riding... The Wheel. Have a radiant afternoon, everyone
