Song of the chapter: Scars to Your Beautiful By Alessia Cara (please listen. I think it is a very good song.) I accidentally posted before I was done.

Audrey's P.O.V
I woke up with a bad pain in my head. My stomach hurt as well. I ran to the bathroom and threw up. My heart was pounding, trying to break free from my chest. Blood was pulsing in my veins. My throat burned.

I let out a cry of pain as I gagged. Mom ran in. Her hand rubbed my back as the rest of the stuff in my stomach spilled out. I turned to her, tears spilling from my eyes. She held me close. I smelled her scent. I wanted to freeze this moment and stay here forever. She planted a kiss on my forehead and carried me downstairs. I was set on the couch with a blanket.

She held her hand to my head.
"Fever. My guess is, 100.2. What's yours?" Mom asked. She always knew how to make things fun. I think. I haven't been with her for very long.
"Umm, 100.1." I finally answered. She stuck the thermometer in my mouth and waited for it to beep.

"Dang it. You won." Mom said and sighed. Her shoulders slumped. I looked to see for myself. Yep, 101.2. Mom went into the kitchen and made me some stuff. On a trey, there was hot chocolate, popcorn with m&ms and cookies. There were two of everything.

"I had the cookies ready for when you came. But I figured since we had s'mores last night, we would wait until today." Mom explained. A fuzzy ball jumped onto her lap.

"Oh yeah! This is Meredith, my cat." I reached over and scratched her head.
"She's so cute! We could never have any pets. My parents said I didn't deserve any." I mumbled the last part. Mom looked sad. She quickly shook it off and asked, "What movie do you want to watch?"

I shrugged and looked at what she had. After much debate, I finally picked Brave.
"I love Merida in this movie. She's strong, brave and never gives up." I say.
"You are the same way." Mom says. I shook my head. I got a sick feeling.

"Mom! Bathroom." I tried to speak while not throwing up. She scooped me up and ran to the bathroom. Luckily, we made it. I let the tears fall. I cried and couldn't stop.

"Baby, it's ok. Don't worry. We'll head to the doctor." Mom comforted me. I got I drink of water and went to my room the get dressed. I put on some blue leggings, and owl sweatshirt and some brown boots. I start to wonder where all these clothes came from. Then I thought, Mom probably had the butler go last night again. I grabbed an owl necklace and walked downstairs. Mom was ready to go.

I shivered.
"I'm freezing." Mom hugs me. That warmed me up a little. I hope this trip goes well.

Taylor's P.O.V
As I dove Audrey to the doctors office, we talked about school.
"So, you'll be going to a new school." I said she nodded. We had a really long conversation! (Note the sarcasm) We pulled into the parking lot of the doctors office. We check in and wait for her name to be called.

"Audrey Swift."
We walked back and checked her hight (4 ft 5in) and her weight (75 lbs). Wow. She was small for a fifth grader.
"Umm, Ms. Swift, she needs 6 shots. She hasn't had a checkup in years. Which is ironic because she has cancer." The nurse whispered to me. I nodded and we entered an ocean themed room.

"Hi, Audrey. How are you today?" The doctor said when he came in. She mumbled a good.
"What seems to be the problem today?" Dr. Bentley asked.
"She has a fever and is throwing up." I answered after she didn't. He nodded.
"Ok, Audrey. You need to get 6 shots. And we'll check if you have the flu." All Audrey did was nod.

He did some stuff and then said, "Yep, flu. Time for the shots. " Dr. Bentley called in 5 nurses. When the needles entered her skin, she didn't flinch. But I guess she does have cancer.
"You're a pro with shots." Dr. Bentley gave Audrey a high five. She smiled. On the way back home I had an idea. I couldn't tell Audrey though.

I entered the building. A sign said. Hello. Welcome to the care home for wild animals. Please ring the bell for assistance. The bell made a dinging sound as I pressed down on the button.
"Hello. How can I help you?" A lady asked kindly.
"Hi. Can I adopt a pet monkey? Just a small one." I asked.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but-" I cut the lady off by pulling down my sunglasses. She nodded. Ah, the perks of being famous I thought. The lady brought me back to a room full of monkeys and other animals.

"Look around and see what you like." She said. I walked around until I saw a decent sized one with a white teddy bear. I pointed at him.
"I'll take him please." The lady opened the cage and the monkey immediately ran over to me and climbed my leg. I laughed.

"Hello there. You're going to make someone really happy." I patted the monkeys head. The lady put him in a small cage.
"Do you need a playpen for him?" She asked and handed the cage to me. I shook my head. "No, I already ordered one. Thank you though." I paid the lady and sighed the papers and walked out to my car.

On the way back, I thought about Audrey's reaction to him. What would she name him? Will she like him? Thoughts flew through my head like birds. Before I knew it, I was back home. Slowly, I got out of the car with the cage in my hand. It seemed to take me forever to get to the door. Finally, I opened it.

Audrey's P.O.V.
The door opened. There stood mom, with a cage in her hand. She took her shoes off and set the cage on my lap. Inside a monkey happily looked through the bars. I gasped. I probably looked like a child at Christmas.
"Thank you so much!" I said through tears. I opened the cage and the monkey came out and patted my face. I placed my hands under his armpits and lifted him off my lap and on to my head. I laughed.

"What are you going to name him?" Mom wondered. Names filled my head. John. George. Buddy. Puck. Jeb. Mac. One stood out to me. Puck.
"Puck." I answered. "His name is Puck." Puck settled on my lap and we started watching the movie. I handed Puck a marshmallow and he happily accepted it. I noticed a small, white teddy bear in the cage.

My hand reached in and gripped the soft plushy. Puck lunged at it and wrapped his arms and legs around the toy. Puck drifted to sleep. He wasn't the only one. I dreamt of my family. How my real mom and dad feel right now. Happy, sad, relieved. I don't know. But I know one thing. I'm happy with the family I have right here.

I love this chapter! Who else wants a pet monkey now? 🙋🏽 I know I do. I hope you enjoyed the chapter as much as I did! -Ella
