Chapter 9 ~ Joy

You sit on your seat clicking your pen continuously as more people come in the room for class. You feel as if people are staring at your new look so you slightly shift your eyes to the right and see some girls and a few boys looking in your direction. You weren't sure if they were looking at their books or having their eyes glued onto you. Either way, you were guessing that you're being watched. You clear your throat and act like you're busy so you pretended to be taking random notes. The teacher walks in the room just as the second bell rings.
After 4 periods ~
You came back from class and headed straight to your locker. You grabbed your lunch from your locker and walked to the cafeteria. You sat at the "normal people table" and casually ate a Nutella sandwich you made. (I make myself hungry so easily, I need to buy more Nutella)
As usual, people give you stares. "Is this a big difference to my appearance?" You thought to yourself. Just as you were about to bite your sandwich, Joy approaches you. Your heart beats faster with thoughts rushing through your head. "What does she want?" "Is she mad at me for dressing differently?" "Does she think I'm dressed like this for Jimin?"
Joy: "Hi Y/N!"
Y/N: "oh...uh...h-hi.." You stuttered with more thoughts rushing.
Joy: "So I'm here because I like your new look! I think you should sit at my table where there are people who aren't uh...let's say...mainstream"
You don't know what to do, stay at your table or move to her table where all the "kawaii" obsessed girls are. You decide to stay where you're at so you won't get into deep drama.
Y/N: "I..I think I'm fine but thanks anyway"
Joy: "aw come on! Don't be shy, your new look belongs to that table! Don't be a loner!" She grabs your wrist, gets your lunch and pulls you toward the table she sits at.
Y/N: "w-w-what.."
Joy: "it'll be fun!!"
Once you both arrived at the table, you pulls out an empty chair from another table and puts it on the edge. The girls at table look at you as you stood there awkwardly.
Joy: "sit sit!" She says as she taps on the seat.
You sat on the seat and look around awkwardly. She places your lunch on the table in front of you.
Joy: "so girls, this is Y/N"
Willow: "wait, that's Y/N? For real?"
Joy: "yeah, people thought she was new here but I can recognize her because of her brows"
Y/N: "oh uh...I guess that's a compliment.."
Joy: "it is, you're eyebrows are the best features on you"
Y/N: "oh uh.....thanks.." You replied with hesitation.
Joy: "so girls, what do you think of her new outfit choice? It really suits her well"
Reina: "it's better than before"
Jessica: "agreed"
Lily: "you looked like an uncooked shrimp before"
Joy: "LILY!!"
Lily: "it's true though!"
Joy: "don't mind her..she just uh..ate too much sugar.."
Y/N: "oh..okay.."
You didn't like this table at all and wanted to leave. You try to think of a plan to escape the table and thought of an excuse.
Y/N: "oh! Uh my phone is ringing!! I'll be right back I guess.."
Joy: "you can hear your phone and we can't?" She raised one eyebrow.
Y/N: "oh uh..you know..I turned my ringer off and I can sense it anyways...weirdly.." You slightly smirked.
Joy: "oh, how weird. Okay, answer your call and we'll be waiting here."
Y/N: "okay!" You ran to the bathroom.
You pushed the door and walked in an empty stall. You latched the door lock and stood in the bathroom stall and wait for lunch to end. You start to think of if Taehyung's idea worked on changing your look for Jimin. You decide to text Taehyung about it since you were dying of curiosity. You unlocked your phone and texted Taehyung.
Y/N: hey did Jimin notice my outfit change or..
You wait for his respond and shows that he read the text. Then he types for almost a minute making you really anxious on what he's gonna say.
Taehyung: okay, so I told him what he thinks of your new appearance and he says that your outfit is pretty nice but he would rather stick to Joy...by 99%..
Wait.. He'd rather stick to Joy? Will this mean you won't have a chance at all?! You got triggered and replied to Taehyung pretty harshly.
Y/N: HE'D RATHER STICK TO JOY?! OMG TAEHYUNG WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME THIS EARLIER? 😠😠
Then Taehyung starts typing really long and wait for him with mixed thoughts.

Taehyung: I was about to tell you at lunch but you were with Joy! And today, you were just going easy with your outfit! You have many chances after that, you bought other cuter, prettier stuff than what you're wearing right now. You have to build up to what you want so remember, patience and hard work is key 😉"
After you read that, you realized how dumb and stupid you are and he knows more about you than you know about yourself. He is right.
