Rodrigo Guirao Diaz as Leon

Leon:

I opened my eyes to sunlight streaming through the white curtains in my room. The vibration of my mobile made me sit up and read the text from my brother.

Dinner. 7:30 PM. @Resonance hotel. It's important. Don't be late.

Any clue?

He replied - Something about me. Want to share it with you guys.

Am I the only one coming?

Mom and dad coming.

Dad too?

Yes.

Huh.

Wondering what it is about. Especially if Dad knows and he is coming.

My dad hates Damian. Well, hate is a strong word but he definitely is angry and unhappy with my little brother for some reason.

I don't know what the problem is, but something changed since my brother graduated from high school. Even when my brother had an accident and was admitted to hospital, my father was stone cold towards him. But I don't understand why he was like that in front of my brother. Because at the same time, he was threatening the doctor to save his boy and shouting orders to anyone who can be of some help.

My mom and I are trying to repair whatever damage there is. Hell, even Damian tried to mend his relationship in the beginning but Dad did not care. So, my brother does not even care anymore. He has distanced himself from my family personally.

Professionally he is very much involved with THE family. You see, my uncle Leonardo is the Don. The head of the freaking Mafia. And my family works for and with him. My father is the younger brother of my uncle Leonardo. He is my godfather. Also, I was named after him. My brother works as a capo for him. Considering that everyone born in the family belonged in the Cosa nostra, I decided not to become a made man and instead remain separated. Call it my mother's will or my choice, but I never wanted or felt like part of the mafia. All my uncles and cousins were born and raised with one objective – to be a part of the mafia, just like me. But still, unlike them, I didn't have it in me.

This was another reason why my mother and I are confused. Damian is the prodigal son that my father wants. What he needs. I, on the other hand, avoid the family like a disease. So, it comes as a surprise to everyone that my father treats him like shit and me like a fucking prince.

I sighed and rubbed the balls of my palms on my eyes to get rid of the sleepy haze. I went to the gym which is in my penthouse. After an hour and a half of workout, I had waffles and got ready to meet my family. I checked my e-mails and a few documents before leaving. I am a criminal lawyer. My professional status sometimes comes in handy when my family needs help. I handle high-profile criminal cases from money laundering to drug and arms trafficking to murders. No need to mention that I have saved my family's ass from jail more times than you count on your fingers. Well, except one time when I intentionally lost one case where one of the made man had sexually assaulted a woman. I cannot stand that shit, never had, and never will. So, you can say that I am a complex guy with a selective humanity.

With various things in mind, I leave for my work.

Entering my office, I'm met with a poker-faced Ryan- my secretary.

"What's up?"

He robotically recounts my schedule for today and takes notes of what I want for lunch. Later, when it's 6 PM. I make my move for the family dinner.
