The air conditioning is on full blast making the building a gigantic human freezer. I have a light blue tank top on, and ripped jeans, which really didn't help the situation. Goosebumps cover every inch of my arms and legs. Shivering I shift in my seat again, trying to get into a mildly warmer spot. I try my hardest listening to the teacher, but it just isn't working, I am too cold.
"Hey are you okay?" Riley asks me walking back to his desk after talking to the teacher about homework and catch-up work.
"Yeah, I'm just really cold." I tell him, shivering once again. He smiles sympathetically and slips off his biker jacket.
"It might not help much, but at least it's something." He explains, hanging the jacket around my shoulders. Smiling warmly, I thank him. I watch as he walks back to his desk and I try to re-focus on the work in front of me. The jacket is warm, but probably not because the jacket is warm but because I'm heating it up with all my embarrassment. The bell rings and I walk back to Riley's desk.
"Here's you jacket." I blurt, giving it to him.
"Thanks. Did it help?" He wonders.
"Yea, it was warmer." I tell him.
"That's good." Riley huffs.
"Well I better go for lunch but I'll see you later." I say.
"How about you follow me?" He asks nudging my arm. I smile and blush.
"Sure, but where are you going?" I inquire.
"You'll see." He replies. Grabbing my hand he drags me through the long hallways of students and teachers. We exit through the front door of the school and head straight over to his motorbike.
"Ever ridden a motorbike?" He asks me.
"Nope." I croak, gulping.
"Don't worry about it, it'll be fun." He reassures me, handing me a helmet. I slip it on, and cautiously climb onto the motorbike, wrapping my arms around Riley's torso.
"Hold on!" Riley yells as the motorbike roars into action. I strain to smile and I squeeze my eyes shut, as far as they can go. I forgot to mention to Riley that I never want to ride a motorcycle in my life.
😜😜
The wind tangles my hair, blowing it out across Riley's jacket. Screaming, I tighten my grip on his body. I hear Riley laugh, and speed up, making me scream even louder.
"You like it?" Riley asks, the wind carrying his voice back. I nod, trying to pretend I do. Then realizing he couldn't see me, I reply.
"Yes!" I shout, my voice hoarse from screaming.
"I'm glad you like it!" He laughs, swerving onto a country side road. The bright green trees and yellow fields rush by us, blurring into oblivion. I smile and hug Riley even tighter. Maybe this wasn't so bad. Then I realized what my arms are wrapped around. Feeling his rock hard abs, beneath his shirt, I gulp. Spreading one of my hands across his belly to see if it is really his abs, he laughs.
Smacking his back I growl, "why did you laugh?"
"Were you checking out my abs Mia?" I stay silent, but it only causes him to laugh again. "Oh Mia." He smirks. Blushing I hide my head in his back, which, unfortunately, only adds to his laughter.
"You suck!" I scream into his back, pushing him forward. We screech to a stop, a cloud of dust all around us.
"You suck? That's the best you've got?" Riley teases, kicking the stand down and hopping off.
"What do you suggest?" I ask, pushing myself off, following what he did. As soon as I was clear of the motorcycle, he grabs me, and starts to tickle me. I scream, a wiggle in his grasp. Then stopping he pushes me away slightly. His eyes meet mine and he stares for several long moments. Then breaking our eye contact, he sighs. I blush confused, did he just sigh?
