Winter's Night

The blue skies are calling us
To sail away in halcyon days
Nature tells us to slowly hush “Listen to the voice of god” she says
The iridescent farm was east
Beside the chapel, where we once played
Scooped up chicken eggs and had a sumptuous feast
When you said me how the moon glazed
Above like a midnight star
when I saw the smile
On your face, calm, angelic and serene At a distant, a soft and sliver chime Was heard muffling across the green You promised to be with me forever But without you, my heart’s broken
In a million pieces that I can’t put back ever
Winter’s never been so cold and frozen
As I lay under the cosmic starlight Hearing the whisper of the tides
The church bell rang, giving me hope that I might
See you in the same warm winter’s night
