The Drive Of Love

I was roaming around the city,
Looking at the lovestruck couples.
I sighed in pity,
Not for them but for me.

Being dumped and rejected,
Left me dejected.
I roamed the town,
Having people eyeing me with a frown.

As I averted my gaze,
It fell upon you,
The beauty left me in haze,
You turned to me, as if on cue.

I didn't falter my gaze,
I just sped away.
Skidding the car to a halt,
I looked down as if on fault.

Then at my house, thinking of the past.
I came to know why that always fell apart.
I must have known,
They were wrong from the start.

The next day I came again,
You were, too, standing there,
With your eyes a sight of pain.

I walked up to you and stretched a hand,
For you to take.
When you didn't move an inch,
Baby it made me flinch.

I pleaded you to come with me,
On the drive of love.
To a place so high,
I know, you'll never wanna leave.....
