After twenty minutes of sitting in the car on the way to Morgan's school, we finally arrived. I wasn't complaining about how long the ride was taking because I wasn't in a rush to go to school. Why would I want to be surrounded by hating ass bitches and thirsty ass niggas all day? Don't get me wrong my grades are on point, but if I could be homeschooled I would .After I dropped Morgan off to preschool, I requested another Über to take me to my school. As I waited for my ride, Ms.Honey who was Morgan's teacher approached me . She was a black woman who seemed to be in her mid 50s, had light brown eyes, and a big afro . Not to mention she was my daycare teacher as well.
"Goodmorning Marissa, I just wanted to give you an update on Morgan's classroom behavior, maybe you can pass the message along to your mother seeing that she's hasn't been to the school since the day she enrolled her." she said as she sighed.
"Go on", I said trying my best not to sound rude as I was looking out for my Uber.
"Well it seems to me that she doesn't sleep at home, everyday she comes in and lays down on her book bag which is not common for a child. She also always comes to school with a fresh bruise what is that about?" she said with a concerted look on her face.
I bit my lip and scratched my arm not knowing what exactly to say without getting my mom into trouble with child protective services.
Then I got an alert that my ride was outside.
"Ms.Honey my rides outside, I have to go to school we can discuss this another time" i said while walking to the car not waiting for a ride.
"Saved by the bell" I mumbled.I climbed into the car and noticed that the lady very familiar . Trying to get a better look at her face, I decided to greet her with a "hello" but the lady didn't turn around. I decided to stay quiet for the rest of this long awkward ride.
Finally arriving to school, I climbed out of the car purposely walking in front of it to get a good look of the woman behind the wheel. As the woman looked up, I realized I was having eye contact with my mother. As I began approach the car again she sped off almost running me over.
I had so many questions running through my mind.
"What happened to her job as corporate manager"
"Is this the job that she's always at?"
"Who's car was that?"
"Did she get fired"
"And more importantly, why the FUCK did she try to run my ass over?"
And all of my questions were going to be answered tonight. She can't ignore me forever , we live together!I already missed my first block and second block was halfway over so I decided to not go and just sit outside and kill time.
I was staring at the parking lot overthinking as usual when I was interrupted by a tall figure in front of me. I looked up to see a tall, dark boy with a bright white smile in face. In other words this nigga was fine as fuck."C-can I help you?" I was lost for words, with this gorgeous boy all in my face.
"Ma, you know everyone is in class right now?" the still unknown guy said flashing his white teeth
"I mean clearly that's why i'm out here" i said while purposely giving him an attitude.
"Chill out with allat, i'm just tryna make sure you straight. Why you out here then?" he asked .
"Cause i'm grown" I said while rolling my eyes still not looking at him because i know that would cause waterfalls to emerge from my panties
"Oh okay my bad lil baby" he chuckled while playing with his braids .
The bell rang and I got up walking back to the building."Oh you not so grown now huh?" he said as I began to up my pace and started speed walking .
He was tripping, it's only three minutes to get to class and I was all the way in the school parking lot. Not bothering to look back, I stuck up the middle finger.
