at 3 am on starry nights like these sometimes he looks out the window and really misses you and isn't really sure if he can keep doing this distance thing while he waits for you to get your degree. there's a bit of doubt here and there that he won't tell you about because he wants you to do what makes you happy. but he really misses you.
its kinda dark in his bedroom once he closes the blinds but his eyes still find the glinting silver car keys on the nightstand so he grabs them and puts on the first pair of shoes he can find and picks up a box of cereal and the aux cord from the table because what's a surprise four hour drive to your campus if he can't bump to some drake and future on the way?
