Ahdia:
"Ahdia, honey. It's time for you to wake up." My eyelids fluttered open to see my mother, standing above me, her long dark waves framing her face, one which was decorated with a sympathetic smile. I groaned and turned over so my mattress muffled the complaints I made so early in the morning.
"Do I have to get up now? It's still so early."
"Yes, now come along dear. You're going to wake up your sister."
I grumbled go myself one last time before pushing myself out of bed. I then delicately lay down the covers onto my sister then followed my mother into the kitchen. After praying and having breakfast, my mother answered the door to reveal my grandmother who greeted me with a kind smile. After giving me a quick kiss, she hurried me into my room to get me dressed. After I was ready, my mother and I were ushered out of the household.
"Ahdia, come. "

Once we arrived outside, there was a van. My uncle waved at us as we clambered into the vehicle. I then realised I wasn't going to have a traditional wedding, with a large party, beautiful clothes, delicious food. Once this dawned on me, I broke down in tears. My mother didn't even try comforting me; what could she say apart from the harsh reality? I wiped my tears as the van pulled up to rocky drive. I looked up and saw the mosque, looming ahead in the early hours of the morning. I started to feel sick in my stomach. What if he was cruel and heartless, what if he divorced me and left me in the same predicament as my mother, only without Azim?
"Ahdia, look at me." I turned to meet my uncle's worried gaze. I then glanced down at my hands, as they shook uncontrollably. We walked quickly into the mosque and then I performed wudu and got dressed in my mother's old wedding outfit.
"Quick, he's here." Azim whisper/shouted. I walked out and saw him. My breath hitches as I took in his beauty. Hazel eyes with streaks of yellow, framed by a chiselled face. Sumptuous pink lips smiled weakly at me as I came closer. I sat down next to me as the imam blessed and wed us. Soon I was a wife.
