Leaning against the wall
blade in hand
I gazed at the stars
Which formed a band
They seemed to be calling
I sighed at their beauty
Looked at my wrists
Should I resume my duty?
A shadow filled my mind
"End it, you're useless", it hissed
I nodded and wiped back the tears that dismissed
I'm not even wanted. I'm ugly and dumb
"That's right, girly. Take that blade, make it numb"
Suddenly, light filled up the place
"Do not think of yourself as such a disgrace.
You are beautiful, cherished, adored and loved.
By your loving, heavenly father from above.
Rebuke the shadows that stray through your mind
Who want destruction to follow your life."
So I tell you the truth
You truly are loved
By the one who sculpted you
By your father, up above
