Harry’s entire family was lovely. Everyone I met gave me a hug and said they were pleased to meet me. Harry hardly let go of my hand as he brought me around to see his relatives and family friends. His mum, Anne, greeted me with open arms and said she’s heard a bit about me which made Harry shuffle his feet and look away. Harry’s mum was quite busy so with some parting words, Harry whisked me away to his back garden where other people were mingling.
It seems as though all we did that afternoon was talk with people but it was fun. The rehearsal dinner was that night and I got to attend with Harry and we had a lovely night and then we had a quiet night back at his place, his mum and Robin out elsewhere. We watched a movie with Gemma and some of Harry’s cousins before going to sleep.
The next morning was a rush. Harry and I got dressed and ready to head out. People were in and out of the house all morning and pretty soon, Harry, Gemma, and I were piling into his Range Rover and driving to the wedding venue. Harry was a best man along with Robin’s son so he had a big part in the wedding and had me sit with his cousins before he gave me a kiss and disappeared.
The wedding was beautiful and relatively quick. I kept catching Harry’s eye and he would give me a smirk before composing himself and looking at towards his mum. Afterwards, a reception was being held at a nearby pub/restaurant so we traveled there and sat for dinner and toasts before doing some dancing. Harry was a great dancer and Gemma seemed to follow in his footsteps, the two of us dancing together half the night. Towards the end of the night, I was getting tired and Gemma left me to go grab a drink so I walked over to where Harry is seated at a table, head down and a pen in his hand.
“What are you doing?” I ask him, wrapping my arms loosely around his neck.
“Nothing,” he answers me, putting the pen down and shutting the sketchbook on it.
“No,” I reach down and open the mini booklet up to where the pen rests. Inside is a quick sketch of what is probably Gemma and me dancing. I flip back a page and there’s another and another. “Can’t go a day without drawing something,” I kiss Harry’s cheek.
“Can’t help it,” he mutters with a smile, reaching up to grasp my arms.
“Come dance with me,” I say. Harry sighs before standing up. “You’re a good dancer,” I assure him, letting him lead me to the dance floor and we spent the rest of the night dancing together, surrounded by his family.
The next day was very relaxed. We spent the day at Harry’s parents’ house in the garden. I sat with Gemma and watched Harry play football with his cousins. People started leaving towards the beginning of the night so Harry and I packed our things and got ready to leave.
“Congratulations, Anne,” I tell Harry’s mum, giving her a hug. “Thank you so much for having me,” I smile.
“Of course, love, come back anytime,” Anne smiles. I give Robin and Gemma hugs and Harry says goodbye before we pack up his car and start the drive back to London, because we both have class tomorrow.
After the journey back, we end up at Harry’s place and he offers to just let me crash there so I agree and we order a pizza for dinner. After we eat, I grab my Polaroid and hoist myself onto the counter. I watch Harry wrap up the leftover pizza and put it away in the fridge. He turns around to see me holding my camera up, and I snap a picture of him, grabbing the print. I set my camera beside me and hold the developing photo out to Harry.
