Many years ago, in a peaceful land deep beneath the ocean, there lived the mermaids. They lived in peace until one day when a great evil invaded their land. Her name was Andrixa, and she was the most powerful witch in the sea. She overthrew the mermaid kingdom making it her own. During this time, unknown to the sea witch, a mermaid princesses was born. She was called Kaylee. She was the daughter of the sea queen Marina and the rightful heir to the throne. To protect her daughter, the queen decided it was best to hide her somewhere safe. A place the sea witch wouldn't even dare to look for her. This place was the land of the humans.
The queen surfaces cautiously, making sure not to be seen by anyone. When she felt like it was clear, she pulls herself onto the beach with her daughter in her arms. She knew her daughter would be safe her. She would fit in well because she was part human and there was not yet any signs of her mermaid heritage revealing itself. She pulled herself across the beach as far as she could and left her daughter outside of what was to be her new home. There was only one couple she could trust; her childhood friend Christopher Reese and his wife Amie. As she wrapped her daughter in a cloth, wrote a note and laid her precious bundle on the porch, Queen Marina's bright blue eyes filled with tears. She did not know when she was going to see her daughter again. She looked on at her beloved child one last time before disappearing behind the rocks.
Soon after, Christopher and Amie arrived home. To their surprise, there was a baby laying on their doorstep with a note. After reading the note, they both agreed that they would raise the child as their dear friend had wished them to. When they picked up the child to bring her inside, they looked into her Sapphire blue eyes and knew at once that they loved this baby girl. Not too long after Kaylee was adopted, there was another new addition to the family. Amie found out she was pregnant. The couple was so excited. They were now going to have two children to love. Six months later, a baby boy was born. They named him Carter. Kaylee and Carter were like two peas in a pod. They were the best of friends and the closest of siblings. They were practically like twins.
Even though Marina had requested that Chris and Amie to not tell Kaylee about her mermaid heritage, they at least felt that she should know she is adopted. So as soon as she was old enough to understand, probably between age 3 to 5, they told her that they found her on their doorstep when she was a baby and took her in as their own. They left out the part about who her mother was of course, and this always made Kaylee curious. Whenever she tried to ask about her mother, however, they changed the subject, so she stopped asking.
-------------Hey guys. Sorry that I've been so inconsistent with my updates. I hope you enjoyed my addition to this part.
