How the actual hell has it come to this point. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the concept of how everything changed so damn quickly. Let's get one thing straight, the only reason I'm writing this is because my advisor says it's going to be essential to humankind's history and how newcomers need to know where to find us, which I think is total bullshit meant to keep me busy. Do you know how many people whipped out their Iphones when everything went down that day? Fucking everyone. Well, anyway I suppose I should get on writing the actual story so, here it goes. My name is Katherine Taylor, and at the moment I'm 21 years old. I'm about 5'6 have unruly, brown, wavy hair and eyes that can't decide whether they want to be green or brown. I'm the queen of sarcasm as everyone so graciously calls me, and about as sassy as they come. My friends will tell you that I'm a total nerd and at this point I think i've accepted it. Oh, yeah and there's one other thing I should mention. I have unearthly powers. Yes, you heard right, and no before you ask I'm not as crazy as I sound. You see, about seven years ago in the year 2016 the world was changed forever. The true building blocks of the universe were revealed and chosen humans were awarded with the power to control certain natural elements. Now before you reach for the nearest pointy object to stab this book with hear me out. The true story starts in October of 2016 when I was only fourteen years old.
