I wake up and I walk to my window. I open it up to check the weather. It is cold, just how I like it. I put on some black leggings, a gray mini skirt, a white 'Rio' t-shirt, a gray knitted sweater and some gray low top converse. I do my eye makeup before going downstairs.
"Mom! Richie!" I call.
I find my mom in the kitchen making breakfast. I kiss her cheek and that's when I realize Richie left early this morning for work, before I even woke up.
"I'll eat when I come home. I'm gonna go meet the neighbors." I say as I kiss her forehead.
"Alright, baby." Mom says.
I walk out the door and I smile at the cool air. I walk across the road and I knock on the big white door.
A boy my age with black hair opens the door. "Hi?"
"Oh hi! I am Richie and Ronda Killmon's daughter. I just moved in across the street." I say.
He smiles at me. "Okay. Come in."
I follow him into the warm house. He lets me sit beside him on their red cloth love seat. He is just happy to meet someone his age, I bet.
"It's good having a friend live so close." He sighs. "We are friends, right?"
"Of course, we can be friends." I grin widely.
Oh eyes meet. His eyes widen slightly before he begins smiling. He hugs me and he walks me home.
"Would you like to come in?" I ask.
"Sure." Embry, I learned his name on the walk over here, replies.
We go inside and I pull of my sweater. My mom smiles as se sees us.
"Hi Embry. Would you like breakfast?" Mom asks.
"Sure." He replies shyly.
Mom smiles and she motions for us to follow her. We follow her into the kitchen. Mom has make bacon and eggs for breakfast.
"I figured something simple." Mom shrugs.
"It's fine, mama." I smile warmly at her.
"Thanks, Angel." Mom kisses my forehead before eating her own plate of food.
"Thanks for breakfast, Mrs Killmon. I have to get home to make sure my mother makes it to work." Embry says.
"No problem." Mom says. "Oh, and call me Ronda."
Embry smiles before he walks out the door. I blush madly as I make my way to tee living room. I turn my tv on and I click through the channels like they are all soap operas.
I land on a random western because there isn't anything else good enough worth watching on. I lay my head back and I imagine what life will be like now.
I am happy now that I am with mom and Richie. Dad had started being mean when I got out of rehab. He called me a skinny whore or a nobody. Annette agreed with him.
Mom or Richie haven't said one bad thing about my past yet. Where I was anorexic for a while, but went to rehab. Mom and Richie are just glad I went and got help.
It was my choice to get help. I wanted to get better, for my mom and Richie. My father and Annette didn't care at all. I went and I got better.
I see storm clouds find their way into the skies. I go slip my sweater back on and I step into the porch. I sit on my porch swing and I see Embry step onto his porch too. He laughs as he sees me curled in my sweater watching the clouds form and it begins to rain.
Rain. I like watching it rain. Mom usually used to let me sit in the rain until the first rumble of thunder. That is when I was forced to go inside.
I hear the thunder roll once an I set up out of the porch swing. I go into the house and I hug my mom. I take my sweater off and I sit back on the couch. I turn the tv to Disney Channel for a while.
I think I may be developing a crush on Embry Call. He is so nice. Well, he's nice to me. I don't know how he is towards his friends. He even gave me his number for if I ever needed him.
I walk upstairs to the bathroom when a commercial is on. I start the water before I begin stripping off my clothes for a shower. I step under the hot water. I set some cold before washing my hair.
After my hair and body are clean, I step out of the shower. I turn the water off before looking at my skinny self in the mirror. Tonight will be a long night.
I walk across the hall and into my room, naked. I open my closet and scope it out. I put on some skull sweat pants and a white spaghetti strap. I yawn and I make my way downstairs for dinner.
"I invited Embry for dinner so Richie can see him again." Mom says.
I blush and I nod. Mom winks at me when the doorbell rings. Richie chuckles at my red face as mom jogs to the door. She walks in with Embry behind her.
"Hi, Angel." Embry smiles and sits beside me.
"Hi!" I grin widely.
Mom serves us all food. She made roasted turkey, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and green beans. My mom is an amazing cook, I have always thought so.
"Embry, Angel has insomnia, a sleeping disorder. Would you like to talk to her until she falls asleep?" Mom asks. "I got the job up in Seattle, at the hospital. I go in after dinner."
"Of course." Embry smiles widely.
I blush at his happiness of being with me until I fall asleep. When mom leaves for work, I show Embry my room.
"I'm gonna go get ready for bed." I say.
I walk out of my room with some clothes and I go into the bathroom. I take a quick shower. When I finish washing myself, I step out of the tub and I dry myself. I turn the water off and I change into my Hello Kitty pajamas.
I enter my room again as Embry is waiting patiently do me on my bed. I smile kindly at him before climbing into bed beside him.
"I wanna bringing you to meet my friends tomorrow." Embry says smoothly.
"Okay." I say nervously.
"How old are you, Angel?" Embry asks.
"Seventeen." I reply. "How old are you?"
"Eighteen." He replies simply. "Favorite color?"
"All of them. I am not picky." I smile.
"Cool. I like brown and blue." He grins lightly. "Do you like La Push?"
"Yeah. I kind of do." I reply simply. "I love my mom and Richie."
"That's good." Embry says with a sigh.
My eyes begin growing heavy throughout our conversation. I snuggle against Embry and u soon fall asleep on his warm skin.
