We walked and walked until we found an abandoned neighborhood in the ninth ward of New Orleans. Luna had gotten tired a while back and decided she wanted on my shoulder so I let her sit there while we looked for a good place to stay. Abel hadn't said anything the whole trip. We finally came upon a deserted building that I found suitable. "Come on" I said. I pushed on the door and it opened easily, suspicious? A little. I'm 20 now and I'm scared if he catches me now jewel fulfil his promise from when.I was 14, that's really the only thing that scares me now. "Bellamie, are you okay?" Abel asks. "I'm fine, I have to be." I told him. After making sure the house is clear I unpack my small amount of personal items. "Bellamie, I didn't know he threatened you. But I can tell you I won't let anything happen to you. I promise" I looked at him. For a small moment I actually believed him. But I couldn't because my father used to say that to me every night and now he was dead. "Don't make promises you can't keep Abel" I told him. I could only trust myself, no one else. I went and found a place to sleep and as usual Luna curled up on my chest her pur lulling me to sleep.
