Spring was Feliks's least favorite time of the year. It was too warm for his liking, though he rather liked seeing that extra skin when it was warmer. You could find him inside on a hot day, lounging on the throne, being fed grapes by beautiful women. Usually when Liet would see him this way, he would become extremely uncomfortable. Feliks didn't really understand why.
Didn't he deserve to have beautiful women fawn over him? Nonetheless, he would always dismiss them whenever Liet came over as to not cause him discomfort. Despite appearances, Feliks really did care about his friend under his obnoxious behavior. He felt like he could be obnoxious around Toris, because that shy man was the only one who would put up with it. He didn't show it often, but he really was grateful for Liet.
That country was always worried about him, it was actually really cute. He genuinely felt cared for. Does Toris know how much he appreciates him? He must.
Feliks sighed, putting his feet up. He hadn't seen Liet in a while. The country did call him almost every day, which was extremely endearing but Feliks would never say that aloud. He was sure his best friend knew how he felt. Right? He had to. Feliks made it so obvious!
He always tried to make Toris laugh and tried to let him win chess but his own prowess in that game was unstoppable it seemed. But he did try! Liet was always so sweet to him, it made him all warm inside.
Feliks sat up, stretching. Where was everyone anyway? Ah, well. He liked being alone. Especially with Toris. He liked talking with him and just being with him. Liet was the only one who really tried to understand him. And he was extremely grateful.
Since no one was around, maybe Feliks could go over Ivan's and check on Liet. Yeah. That sounded like a good idea. He jumped up, rushing up the stairs to get dressed.

To Poland,

This is my first journal entry. I have received you for Christmas from Mr. Ivan. He is so nice to me most of the time. And I hope you don't mind but I have named you Poland, after my dear friend Feliks. I always tell him everything so I decided you could fill in for him when we can't be together. I do enjoy Feliks's company, even though he's kind of an ass. Well, it's almost dinner. Mr. Ivan is cooking for once! I must go.
                  With love, Lithuania

Despite it being spring, it wasn't warm outside at all. Feliks loved that, but he hadn't dressed appropriately. Who gives a fuck, he's already outside. Shlick. Oh for fuck's sake. Mud. Feliks shook his foot, watching his step this time. Liet didn't live that far away but it still was a while away. He hummed to himself, making mental notes about landmarks, even though he knew the way by heart already.
It was nearly dinnertime when he arrived at Toris's, knocking. No one answered. How strange. Not even Raivis or Eduard or even Ivan answered. Feliks tried the door and it was unlocked. Now he was kind of scared. Did something horrible happen? He hoped not.
Feliks went into the house, looking around.
"Toris!" he called, looking around. Not even a sound. This was very unsual. He knew that Ivan usually took Raivis and/or Eduard with him when he went out, leaving Liet at home but it was very strange that his friend was not home either. Toris never left the house when Ivan wasn't around, he didn't want to make Russia upset. Which was perfectly understandable. That's why he would frequently come over instead of the other way around.
Feliks sighed. So no one was home. What a waste of time. Suddenly he got an idea. It was totally an invasion of privacy but  it was a delightful idea nonetheless. Toris had trusted Feliks with the password to his journal and he was going to read it. Who knows what juicy secrets lay hidden for him to unearth?
He climbed the stairs, Liet's room the first door you come across. The door was also unlocked, which was also kind of weird but that was another problem for another day. Feliks inhaled deeply. The room always smelled like fresh herbs, which made sense because Lithuania loved to garden. It was one of his favorite hobbies. Feliks wouldn't admit this to anyone, not even his best friend but the way Toris and his room smelled relaxed him and made him feel... like he belonged. It was hard to describe really, especially since Feliks had never felt this way about anyone before.
He easily found the journal, putting in the password, which was just Liet's birthday. So easy. Feliks skimmed through the pages, finding the most recent entry and began to read.

To Poland,

I called Feliks today. I don't think he really cares when I call him because he never seems to listen or take my advice. He is very stubborn in that way. I started to wonder if maybe he had realized what a loser I am and maybe found someone better. It's not the first time I've thought of this. Fel deserves much better than me, but fuck I am so grateful for him. Mr. Ivan has left me alone but my mind betrays me. I need to see Fel. I'll see you soon.

        With love, Lithuania

Feliks was confused. Why were these entries dedicated to him? He turns pages until he arrives at an entry from a few months ago.

    To Poland,

Now I've really done it. I tried so hard you see. But he is just so kind and wonderful and perfect that I couldn't help it. He leant me his sweater and when he helped me put it on, his fingers brushed my arm. It made me shiver. But Poland, that's when I realized. I have fallen in love with Feliks. I really didn't mean to but the way he looks at me and says my name, it makes my knees weak. I must go. I think Fel is trying to read this over my shoulder. Goodbye.

        With you, Lithuania.

Feliks's heart was pounding in his chest. His hands were shaking. Liet... his Liet was in love with him? He could hardly dare to believe it. His eyes scanned the entry over and over to make sure he read it right. Liet... oh, Liet. Feliks felt so warm and fuzzy. He hugged the journal to him tight. What should he do now? Toris had said he was going to his place, but he knew he'd be gone when Feliks returned home. So Feliks decided to wait there, putting the journal back, nervous. He was pacing back and forth. What would he say to Liet when he came back? Oh God, he didn't know! Feliks sat down on the bed, shaking. Toris wouldn't be home for a while, giving up on seeing Fel. It was dark out when Liet came home, finding a sleeping Feliks on his bed.
