A deal with a Mistress

When I woke the next morning he was gone. I stretched lazily and glanced at the empty space beside me. He had stayed with me till I had fallen asleep. Smiling stupidly; I climbed out of bed and made my way to the shower, my head filled with thoughts from the night before. His hands touching my body, his lips meeting mine…

I turned on the shower and let the water run awhile.

But why had he left?

I mean I know boys are not allowed to stay in the girl’s dorms, especially mine, you know; in case I fancied a midnight snack and all…But no note? He didn’t wake me up before he left; I would have remembered. I stepped out of my panties and into the shower.

The warm water was welcoming, caressing my body and washing away all signs of the fight and my passionate encounter with Luke. I washed my hair with my usual mint shampoo and scrubbed my body with my caramel body wash. It was a weird combination but one I remembered Luke adored. I hissed angrily as I brushed over my birth mark; it has been hurting ever since Luke had…I shook my head. No, it wasn’t a birth mark; it was to show I was claimed. I hated it.

Studying it, I realised it looked like the beginning of a swirl; it was oddly shaped and was black in colour. I had never heard about anything like this. Mistress Rosanna made sure I was banned from all history classes; in case I learned valuable information I could sell to the fallen. But I bet that wasn’t the only reason… It stung at the touch of my fingers and I guessed my ‘fiancé’ would now know I wasn’t loyal to him. I shuddered. Good, I despised the creep.

I got out the shower and dressed into a normal pair of black jeans and a comfy jumper. I think everyone had seen enough of my extreme wardrobe for now. I finished the look by curling my long hair and applying my make-up; lipstick and heavy eyeliner. A smile spread across my face at the thought of seeing Luke at breakfast, I was beginning to feel like a lovesick teenage girl…

I pulled on my boots hastily and left for the main hall. I didn’t make my bed before I left; I wanted a little reminder that Luke’s feelings, and the night before, were real.

~

The main hall was packed with people buzzing about the typical breakfast gossip, and grabbing more blood than food; to subside the hangovers they were experiencing. I scanned the room for Luke. Sly glances and disgusted stares sailed my way but all were ignored. Hell, I even gave the most awkward students a topic starter; but I dint care.  I just wanted to see Luke.

“Ah there you are Miss Belkov.”

I groaned inwardly as Mr Lockwood placed a heavy hand on my shoulder.

“I’ve been waiting for you to rise from your pit; Mistress Rosanna is waiting for you in her office.”

“You know for a teacher you’re pretty awful towards me” I shunned.

He chuckled, although I could tell he wasn’t really amused, turning us both swiftly he practically marched me to ‘the heads office.’ I rolled my eyes thinking on another snarky comment to spit out at him.

But my words got stuck in my throat, causing me to choke as a heavy weight took over my chest. I wished my eyes were deceiving me; but I knew as well as anyone else sat in that damn room that what I saw was fact. Luke was sat, hand in hand, with Amy. Heads resting against one another like nothing had ever happened.

Take the shittiest moment you’ve ever experienced in your life and times it by 1000,000,000; that’s how I felt when my eyes found them.

I didn’t understand. And all I got from the bastard was one guilty look before I was forced into the corridor.
