Ares wiped the sweat pouring down his forehead as he squinted to see through the clouds below. He gripped the hilt of his blade, ready for action.
"I sense a presence. Be alert," his dragon warned. Ares kneeled on the back of a White Dragon as it soared through the skies. His equally white hair whipped back in the wind and his casual black blazer threatened to be blown off. Silence persevered as the two strained to hear the slightest hint of movement.
'Fsshh!' A barrage of hissing balls of flames shot at them. Ares took his stance and expertly slashed at the magical projectiles, parrying and diverting them without fail. "You'll have to do better than that princess!" Ares mocked the girl rising atop her levitated magic platform.
Asteria gritted her teeth and frowned at Ares as he teased her but her expression quickly morphed into a mischievous smile. "Try not to fall too hard!" she shouted as she leapt through the thick layer of puffy clouds, disappearing from view.
"Keep a look out!" Ares' dragon cautioned. Ares kept his eyes peeled, desperate to avoid being taken by surprise.
"Grraaaah!" the White Dragon roared as the Eastern Dragon emerged without warning and grabbed its unaware foe by the neck. The struggle between the beasts flung Ares off of his mount and left him in a free fall.
"Curse you Eurus!" Ares muttered under his breath. Ares dove down, cutting through the air's resistance to speed up his descent.
"I guess its time to use this," he thought as he switched to his Dragon Gauntlet.
"I'm afraid that I can't let that happen," another human stated coldly, intervening Ares' attempts to change his weapon.
Ares grinned at the newcomer. "Well then we'll have to solve this dispute right here, won't we Soterios."
