WARNING: This book is very bad, it's the first one I ever wrote/posted. I'm going to be going back through and editing it, but the storyline is still screwed up, so I'm very sorry. If you continue reading, then that's your choice, but I warned you.

Chapter 1 There They Are

Another friday. Greeeaat. Hasn't this week been long enough? I'm Katherine, by the way. Blond, tall, green eyes, 16 years old, beautiful, and with a little something extra. I love being different, and this story is about the time that my life changed forever. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, those weeks are something I'll never forget. Now, back to that friday...

I can't believe this! That was all I could think. All I'd done that morning was get ready for school, drive to school, and see the greeting party! I couldn't believe that my amazing friends(All 6 of them!) had formulated a greeting party for me! I guess 16 really is sweet!

"I can't believe you guys!" I squealed as I got out of my car,"You even got here early?"

"We sure did. Of couse," Cora remarked,"you did the same for my b-day. And Megan's. And Hailey's. And Victoria's. And Evan's and Jenna's. You'll probably do it again for all of us next year."

"Completely true," I conceded,"but I only dreamed that you guys would do this for a little witch like me!" That's the extra. I'm a witch. No big deal, right? Anyway,"You guys are amazing!"

Jenna skipped forward to the spot where I stood rooted with surprise and delight. "Why wouldn't we do this for you, Kath?" She said it happily and sweetly, just like she says everythng else. Everyone around us was immediately nodding and smiling in agreement. Most people agree with Jenna all the time. It just happens somehow.

I couldn't stop smiling. For their birthdays, all I'd done was make up a poster, pick up the others, and get to school to wait. They'd all done a poster of their own, with cute little candies hanging from strings on the bottom! And the posters reflected how they saw me! Megan's had books on it because she knew I was a bookworm. Vic's had math problems, and I was always solving her problems for her. Evan's had throwing stars, ninja swords, and more. I'd shown him I was a fighter plenty of times. Cora's had stars, symbols, and wands on it because she was the first to find out about my magic when she saw me floating a pencil. Hailey's poster was covered in animal stickers to show my love of animals. Jenna's poster was the only one I didnt get.

"What's all this mean?" I was honestly stumped. Her poster was covered in hearts and labels from bottles of glue, all on a background of one giant heart. My only thought was, Huh?

"It means that you have a big heart, and you're the glue that holds all of us together. The seven of us couldn't have stayed friends this long if it wasn't for you," Jenna replied, and I could tell she really thought that was true. From the nods and open grins around us, the others obviously agreed with her, on varying levels. And not just because they usually did. This was their own topinions.

I could feel happy tears building in my eyes, and I tried to blink them away, but they slipped out anyway! "Guys," I laughed happily,"You would get along even without me! Since when do you need me?"

They started to argue that they always needed me when a Lamborghini pulled into the parking lot. An honest-to-God Lamborghini. Here. In little-town Colfax. All spoiler and spotless black paint, it glided into a parking space near our gathering of three small-town cars. A Durango, a Volvo, and another(older) Durango. There was no possible way that it was here, but there it was. All of us fell silent with shock, and I can't speak for the others, but it was all I could do to keep my mouth from falling open. And all of this was before he stepped out. Then I couldn't help but gape.

His hair was chocolate brown. He had strong, broad shoulders. He was tall, but not at all too tall. When I looked into his face, it was like the world froze. He was all I could see. Sensual lips, strong jaw, a perfect nose, and eyes like no others I'd ever seen. They were the color of the sun shining through oak leaves on a warm spring day. With one look, I felt like I could know him forever and still not understand his depths. He didn't look like an angel, as some would have said. He was an angel. And I'd met him before.
