Nash
Freshly showered I put on another button down and start packing up the picnic basket when there's a bang on my door. Who could that be? I wonder, I already told Lou and the guys I couldn't do poker night so they shouldn't be here. I open the door and no ones there, I would curse the children in the neighbourhood but this is the ghetto and no one bothers anyone without a reason. I could've sworn I also heard my name being called, I step outside my door and look around, there's no one. Ah well, better hurry to Charlie. I pack up the rest of the basket and head out.
I do end up beating her here and start setting up, she should be here soon. Tonight I picked out some old rock music, thought I'd change it up from our usual jazz. I glance at my watch, she's ten minutes late and the lights are starting. Damnit it dimples, you're missing the opening act. I figure she's probably fixing up that mane of hers and give her five more minutes. Then five minutes' pass, then ten, then fifteen. Alright this is just ridiculous. I stand up and make my way through the fence to her place. She better be passed out asleep or she's getting an ear full.
I knock on her door and wait a minute, nothing, I knock again. "Hey dimples, it's Nash, you know, the guy you blew off for God knows what reason." I yell through the door. Still nothing, now I'm starting to get worried, she would at least answer her door. I start pounding on it, panic reaching me. Not her, I can't lose her. I decide to kick down her door, it takes a few kicks but I get it. She's not in there, I don't even see her dirty work clothes. She didn't even come home after work. I close her door and go to Gen's house, frantically knocking.
"Yes?" Gen asks, I can see Akira in the background glaring.
"Is she here?" I ask.
"Who?" Asks gen.
"Charlie! Is she with you!?" I yell.
"You better watch your tone." Akira says, coming to the door. "Charlie isn't here, what's going on?" She asks.
"We were supposed to meet tonight but she was twenty minutes late and she's not at home, I didn't even see her dirty uniform from today in her place." I say quickly. Gen immediately grabs a new lock and makes her way over to Charlies house.
"Fuck, I told her not to ask questions." Akira says.
"Questions? What the hell are yah talking about? Do you know where she is?" I ask.
"She stated asking about why people were disappearing in here and what happened to Gen. I know her partner at work knew someone who went missing, she must have asked more about her." Gen says, a worried look on her face.
"So now what, are you telling me she's missing too? What the hell are we supposed to do now?" I feel helpless.
"You wait, if I'm right, she'll only be gone for a night, or a day." She says.
"Wait? You're out of your mind if you think I'm going to sit around and wait for her to pop up." I say as Gen comes back inside.
"There, all locked now. Here's her new key." Gen says handing me a key.
"Where is she Gen? I know you know what's happening so tell me!" I say.
"No don't, leave her out of this, she doesn't know anything." Akira says.
"They're watching." Gen says, pointing across the street. I glance behind me and no one's there.
"Completely useless the two of you, I'm going out to search for her, join if you'd like." I take off down the street, calling Charlies name until my voice goes hoarse.
