Frisk: "Who...?"

Toriel: "Be not afraid, my child. My name is Toriel! Come with me, please."

The kind goat-looking lady, wearing a bluish-white and purple dress, motions toward a large door and walks toward it, going in first.

Frisk: "Huh, wait! I'm coming!"

Toriel: "If I'm rushing you, please let me know."

I've been told a lot of things happen to Colettes associated with goats. I heard once that one Colette was a general of goats (Allinora - General of the Capricorn Palace), and that another one had a goat jealous of her (All of 'True Love, Sweet Lies' group). But this one seems nice...like how Flowey was.

Frisk: "Whoa! What is this?!"

And...for the next 15-20 minutes was spent going through trap-things called puzzles. Which I sort of think is the same thing. Some included spikes, switches, patterns...is this the last one? Me and Toriel are met with a huge set of spikes, no switches, no way around it. I look up at Toriel, and saw her hesitant face. Suddenly she looks down at me and smiles.

Toriel: "Not to worry, here, hold my hand, child."

I take hold of her hand, and she pulls us nearer to the spikes. I look around frantically, maybe to find some pressure plate, tripwire, SOMETHING, that it'll trigger the spikes to go down. Lasers? No...Toriel! You gonna kill us?! I grip her hand as she takes a step on the spikes.

Frisk: "No...!"

Toriel: "It's okay, see?"

The spikes go down, following her step, that's the same for the rest, as I try to stay on the tile she was on. Finally we get across. We enter the big arch and is met with another long hallway. Just a hallway. Maybe this is a no-see puzzle. Suddenly, Toriel crouches down and speaks to me.

Toriel: "Now, child, what I am going to do, will be kind of difficult for you. But I'm going to go away."

Frisk: "Why...?"

Toriel: "Just somewhere. Now, I want you to walk down this hallway. I'll be waiting."

She stands up, after I blink in surprise, she disappears. Like, split-second POOF.

Frisk: "Toriel? Toriel?!"

I stare straight ahead of the hallway. Throughout all the puzzles, there was NO puzzle that had an entire room EMPTY or maybe INVISIBLE. How will I know what's there and what's not?! I cautiously take a step forward. Nothing. A few more paces. Nothing. A few, few more paces. Nothing. A few, few, few...you get the point. I finally get to the end of the hallway and nothing happened.

Frisk: "Huh. I thought something was going to happen. But...where is Toriel?"

I began to worry even more. Did I miss something.

Toriel: "Child! You have made it! Fear not, for I was just merely hiding behind this pillar."

Made it paranoidly across a hallway with no traps, and Toriel was hiding behind a pillar. Why?!

Toriel: "There was a reason I had to do this exercise. To test your independence."

Frisk: "Oh...well, that did stress me out a bit. Made it a bit embarrassing that there was nothing there."

Toriel: "Hahaha, well, we all assume that sometimes. Ah, is it that time already?"

Frisk: "What?"

Toriel: "Child, I will have to go to a meeting and I want you to stay here. Will you do that for me?"

Frisk: "What? Where are you going?"

Toriel: "Somewhere a little girl like you shouldn't see. But...how will I contact you? Ah!"

She pulls out a small square, for which, a couple seconds, I had thought was a gun, until I saw it had no trigger, barrel, and yas/nah safety.

Toriel: "Here! I'll give you a cellphone!"

She's talking like I don't know what that is. Same with the puzzles. But I accept the phone anyway. Just being nice. She's been a good egg longer than Flowey. If she's keeping this up and not going to abandon me forever, then that's good. But if I was in danger and I called her...what would she do...? Laugh so hard she'd be...never mind...besides that's for cows.

Toriel: "Call me if you need anything."

Frisk: "Okay...thanks."

Toriel: "Now, please do not go ahead, for these puzzles I have yet to teach you."

Then she does one of her famous split second whoa-you-saw-nothing! disappearances. That leaves me holding a phone, in the middle of some weird and soul-craving whatever-they-are, without Toriel (I hope I can trust her) and all alone here. I wonder where she went? Why can't I come along with?

Frisk: "Well, she's mother-like...I guess. She might think that I can't handle things like that...whatever it is."

I took a peek in the next room. More puzzles. But now there's a frog thing there. I think it might be a bit rude to call the frog a 'thing', but whatever.

*****

Frisk: "Hah...hah...what the? I had fell...through the same hole...fifteen TIMES-! Wait...what's that?"

I had finally...FINALLY...had gotten through those puzzles WITHOUT Toriel. Though, it pains me on when I was doing a puzzle, how guilty I felt when she called and still thought I was still at the door.

(Flashback)

*ring, ring*

Frisk: "Ah! Oh, the phone!"

Toriel: "'Hello, child, this is Toriel.'"

Frisk: "O-oh, hey, Toriel."

Toriel: "'You are still at the place where I left you, are you?'"

Frisk: "Uh..."

Toriel: "'Good! Now...out of curiosity...'"

Frisk: "Oh, please not be going there, please not be going there..."

Toriel: "'Do you prefer...cinnamon, or butterscotch?'"

Frisk: "What? Cinnamon and butterscotch?"

Toriel: "'Yes, which do you prefer?'"

Frisk: "Uh...butterscotch?"

Toriel: "'Ah...butterscotch... Well, thank you for your cooperation!'"

*beep*

Then the call after that...

*ring, ring*

Frisk: "O-oh!...gosh. Hey, Toriel? Is this another food question?"

Toriel: "'Yes, it is. Now...would you turn your nose if you didn't find...butterscotch on your plate?'"

Frisk: "Oh, if you don't have butterscotch, don't stress yourself. I'll eat cinnamon."

If it isn't poisoned, hope she has silver silverware. Little fun fact, why most rich people don't use golden forks and spoons. Literal silver utensils are used to see if poisons is in someone's food, it changes color when something's poisonous.

Toriel: "'Okay...well, thank you for your cooperation.'"

(and now...)

Frisk: "Ah...I'm so sorry. Huh, where am I?"

Suddenly I hear the sound of extra feet. I turn and see...

Toriel: "Ah, that took longer than expected..."

Frisk: "Toriel?!"

Toriel: "Child? What're you doing here?"

Frisk: "I...uh...I can explain, well...um..."

Toriel: "Ah, ha, ha, ha...ah, do not worry, little girl. Come with me, you have reached your new home."

A large door opens and Toriel beckons me inside, I take her hand and let her guide me in. And that's...when my life gets thrown back into the battle-box.
