The radio softly plays as I look out the window. I see my mom glancing at me through the side mirror every once in a while. Nobody has talked since we left the hospital. My left arm is bandaged all the way up to my shoulder from where it slammed into the window. I'm sitting on the right side this time. I take a deep breath.
"This is exactly what happened to Toby, mom." My mother turns off the radio quick. "Please don't bring Toby up, Y\N. I get it that you two were good friends, but please. I know it is, hun." I sigh and go back to looking out the window. The rest of the car ride was silent. My mother took the same road we went on when we had the accident. I quote her, "I wanna get you home safe and quick. So please, when we pass it, please don't look."
I ignored her, and looked anyway. I see a tree fallen over, but nothing more.
I instantly remembered how the car looked, and how my sister looked.
The same exact thing..that happened to Toby.
Happened to me.
I see how my sister was thrown into the front window and I just stare blankly.
During the crash,something happened to me. It's like my reality turned itself off.
I can't feel anything.
I'm numb.
