The sun felt so nice on my skin as i sat on my porch watching the open fields in peace.But something caught my eye,a man running through the field with a boy in his arm,and another man running behind with Otis.I stood up instantly getting a little scared."daddy"i yelled back into the door,dad came rushing out with patricia,maggie,beth,and jimmy,he was holding a bat."was he bit" dad asked the man running up to us,"shot by your man"he said panicked."sarah get back"maggie whispered to me,i did as she said and backed up,"otis" i whispered confused."he said to find hershel",he continued,his voice panicked."is that you?help me! please help my boy"! he yelled at dad panicked.My dad gestured him in,i followed behind quickly hearing dad give orders.:"Patricia get my full kit sarah" "Yea" i said quickly."get the painkillers,sheets,and alcohol.dad continued to order our family around and what we should do.i was so scared for that boy, a little panicked too.i grabbed all the pills and sheets i seen and rushed back to the room watching them work on the boy."need pressure on the wound"ordered dad to the cop guy,while listening for a heart beat."you think he'll make it"i whispered to maggie but she only shrugged."i got a heart beat,but its faint"dad said"maggie IV' he added and maggie quickly going to the boys side pushing the copy guy away gently."we need some space"maggie said and hershel spoke again,"your name"? "Rick"the cop said "Rick"? "im....im Rick" he nodded."rick we'er going to everything we can,okay?you need to give us some space,now"ordered dad and rick just stood there and starred at dad,then his gaze went to his son and then fell to the floor as he slowly went out of the room."sarah"called dad placing a bloody rage in my hand and i nodded."hold this for me maggie said handing me a sheet and running out of the room and back with more sheets.rick came back in but with the other guy.the other guy was wearing a black shirt with light brown pants,he was holding ricks hat in his hands for him,he had dark black curly hair and his eyes were focused on the boy."you know his blood type"dad said looking at rick."A positive, same as mine" "that fortunate,dont wonder far im going to need you"dad replied turning back to the boy.i was so scared i hope the boy was okay,they said otis shot him?,my eyes landed on otis in the far con er of the room."what happened"?i asked looking at otis."i was tracking a buck"he stuttered,"the bullet went right through,went clean through"he said."the deer slowed down the bullet which surtantly saved his life"dad said.otis walked over to aptricia and grabbed her shoulders"I never saw him,not till he was on the ground"he half whispered. 'lori doesnt know"rick said to his friend"my wife doesnt know"he cried hugging his friend.i watched as they hugged and left the room,i felt so bad for the guy,i was pulled out of my thoughts by maggies voice."hes going to be fine,im sure"she said rubbing my back."i hope so i replied"."maggie get rick the boy needs more blood'dad ordered and maggie rushed out bringing rick back in and going to the boys side quickly.the boy started to cry in pain as dad tried getting a piece of the bullet out."you hold him dad ordered me and ricks friend,and we did as we were told,watching as the boy cried for his dad."STOP! your killing him"rick yelled not standing his boy cry in pain."rick,you want him to live right?then do as your told",i said while holding down the boys legs."he needs blood"patricia yelled.'DO IT NOW!"ricks friend yelled,and rick puy out his arm to particia."one down six more to go"dad said putting the bullet piece on the table.suddenly the boy stopped moving and rick looked at him in fear looking back up at dad,"he just pasted out"dad assured him.i let out a sigh of relief,i couldnt take it anymore i felt a little sick."maggie im going to get some air" i said turning around but she grabbed my arm."are you okay sarah?she asked,"yea yea i just need some air okay?."ok"she replied turning back to the boy waiting for the next order.i stepped outside taking a big breath but i heard crying.i looked over to see beth crying on the steps."hey hey you okay beth?its alright"i said sitting next to her and hugging her shoulder."its just not fair,hes just a kid he doesnt deserve this"she replied."i know but hes going to make it ok?you just need to have some faith alright'i said back and she nodded wipping away her tears."well im going to go ask where his wife is okay?she needs to know whats going on and be here for her son and rick alright?,"ok just be careful"she said back giving me a hug"Ok" i went back inside ans seen rick and his friend sitting outside the room talking."lori has to be here,shane.she has to know"rick insisted looking at his friend."okay i get it,ill handle it but you got to handle your end"ricks friend replied.they started to talk again but i derided to give them some privacy and went to look outside from the door just thinking,until dad opened the door gaining everyone's attention."we need a respirator"dad said,'ok,what else otis replied "the surgical tube that goes with it and extra surgical supplies,drapes,sutures"dad answered "if i had all that i could try"dad sighed."yeah but dad the nearest hospital went up in flames months ago"i said with everyone looking at me."the high school"otis replied stepping closer to dad and nodded turning to rick."they set up a FEMA shelter there,they would have everything i need"dad said."place was over run last time i seen it tho"otis said."maybe its better now"i replied looking at otis."leave it to me"ricks friend said stepping forward,"i hate you going alone"rick said looking at his friend."come on doc,why dont you write me a list,draw me a map"ricks friend said."you wont need a map,ill take you there,aint nothing but five miles"otis replied."otis no"patricia demanded."honey we dont have time i need to go,it my fault,ill be fine"otis said looking at her."are you sure about that?"ricks friend said."do you even know what any of that stuff looks like?"otis asked"come to think of it,no"ricks friend replied"well i do and im taking you there".ricks friend nodded in response."i should thank you"rick said shaking otis's hand"wait till your boys up walking around,then we can talk,ill gather some things"otis replied disappearing.i took a deep breath and stepped forward"ill go to,who knows you might need backup"i said gaining everyone's attention."sarah no!"dad replied."yes dad i need to go,i want to go and besides im a good shot'."sarah no"maggie begged,"i have to and you need to go and find his wife"i replied,"sar-" she started,"NO! you need to go get her ok?she needs to know whats going on"i yelled "Ok' she replied quietly looking at dad and he nodded then she disappeared outside"sarah please dont go"dad pleaded"dad i want to please"i begged looking into his eyes"fine but please be careful","i will i replied while hugging him and beth."ok lets go" otis said while walking outside and getting into the truck with ricks friend.i looked at my family one more time and gave them all a hug."i love you guys ill be back","promise"beth cried"promise" i said giving her one last hug and getting in the truck watching as my family's farm disappeared from my view."i promise i whispered to myself thinking and hoping the boy would be alright.
