"Is it over?" Your muscles were tensed and you kept on circling around to be sure that there were no white walkers anymore. Your heart was beating in your chest and you were out of breath, but you were still standing.

"For now." Jon turned around a few times too and then he put his sword away while he sat down in the snow. Blood covered his skin and he was sweating all over his body. His long hair, tied into a bun, was glued to his forehead and he let out a sigh. "You did well today." He turned his face towards you and a smile spread across his face. "Maybe I should look into changing the rule that no women are allowed to join the night's watch."

You shook your head and let out a relieved laugh while you sat down next to your best friend. Even though you had always known that you were good with a sword, you had to admit that this fight had been harder and more horrible than you had always thought it would be. "Your men will end up distracted."

Jon bent his head slightly. "I'm actually more afraid their ego's will end up bruised." He looked up at you again and he raised his eyebrows a little. "You've fought a lot better than some of my men today."

"Do you think they'll threat me better now they've seen me fighting against the white walkers?" You frowned your eyebrows a little and thought about everything that had happened during the last few months.

Some men had spit in your food, saying that you were a worthless girl and didn't deserve anything they worked so hard for. Others had tried to put their hands on your breasts and behind, because if a woman showed up at the night's watch she had to be a whore. Most men had refused to do any cleaning, because now there was a woman, why would they still do it?

"I hope so." Jon answered, but the smile on his face disappeared. "I don't want to have to send you away. I could use a good fighter here." He sighed and he stared at the horizon as if he was still not entirely sure if the White Walkers were really gone for a while.

"Would you send me away if your men can't behave around me?" You licked your lips and you laid down in the crispy snow.

"Yes." Jon answered and he laid down next to you. "Because you would have to stand up for yourself if I don't and that means that either my men are ending up dead or you end up dead." He shook his head. "I can't lose anyone. This fight with the white walkers isn't over yet. We need all fighters we can get."

For a moment there was nothing but silence. Dead bodies were surrounding you and Jon and the other men of the night's watch were sitting and laying down in small groups, just like you and Jon.

"Jon..." You whispered and you pushed yourself up again. "We should burn the corpses before..." You didn't finish your sentence and Jon pushed himself up too.

He knew you were right. He didn't feel much for adding even more soldiers to an almost unbeatable army. After a long minute he stood up and raised his voice. "Collect all corpses and bring them to this exact spot." He ignored the sighing and complaining of his men and turned his face towards you. "We're gonna find wood to get the fire started."

You nodded and you straightened your back and lifted your chin while you walked next to Jon over the battle field. You felt everyone staring at you, but surprisingly they were not undressing you with their eyes anymore. A smile spread across your face and you relaxed a little. "I'm glad I could fight with you today, Jon."

"I am too."
