Chapter 1:

She laid back, resting her tired head on their famous tree trunk. She closes her tired eyes enjoying the warmth of the sun on her olive skin. She leans her head forward, only enough to take a bite of the perfectly peeled apple Nick had skinned for her. She had become lazy once again and softly slams her head onto the trunk, soaking up the juice on her taste buds. The birds chirp better than usual, the cool breeze brushes across her face and the famous sound of Nick's pocket knife carving something on the wood had made everything yet all the more beautiful. She opens her eyes slowly, carefully waiting for her eyes to adjust to the beaming rays of the sun. Once her dark blue eyes were fully adjusted, she moves her head, taking another bite of the apple, and look at Nicks beautiful carvings.

"It's bad, I know" he says as he puts the knife down and bites into his apple. She shakes her head.

"No. It's really good. The best I have ever seen" she states with a smile.

"Not as good as on paper though, aye?" he asks, with his mouth full of apple. She giggles and nods.

"I suppose so" She says taking another bite. He faces the woods, away from the tree and takes another bite. "Its beautiful" she whispers. Nick agrees with a nod of his head and leans back.

~~ It almost felt like yesterday when Vivian was in hospital, however the accident occurred on the 17th of February, 2012. It was the exact same day, 3 years later. The pain was still there as a constant reminder of her accident. The piercing pain in her left leg and left rib cage made it hard for her to move on certain occasions. She looks up to the beautiful clear blue sky and squeezes her eyes together in pain, but today she knew she had to be strong. For Dakota. Dakota is Vivian's, now, 3 year old younger sister, and today was her 3rd birthday. Vivian well knew that she should had help her mother with decorations and food preparations but decided to spend time with her best friend, Nick. Besides, her mother had the help of Vivian's younger sisters Chelsea and Lilly.

"I can't believe it" Nick says throwing his apple core into the wild.

"Believe what?" she asks in confusion as she does the same with hers. Nick twisted his body around to face Vivian as Vivian stayed where she was. They looked into each others eyes for a while before Nick smiled and lightly brushed his fingers across her leg, something Vivian was more than comfortable with. She rests her head back on the trunk of the tree and watched Nick's finger roam the top of her thigh.

"Its been 3 years since you were admitted into hospital" Nick stops stroking her leg and watches Vivian's expression. She keeps her eyes where they were and kept a straight face.

"Yeah, I know" she replies, looking in the other direction. Vivian wasn't the kind of girl who would be moody or judgmental about a lot of things, but the accident was one thing she didn't want to talk about.

~~ On that day, she woke up in the hospital bed with the white cotton strap wrapped just around the bottom of her breast and around her whole left thigh. She woke up having lost all her memories as there was a quite large lump on her head – her parents claiming they found her in the bushes, fallen over, covered in blood. The only thing she remembers are the faces of her family. She had remembered nothing else. As a miracle, her younger sister Dakota was born on the same day. Vivian started a whole new life, with Dakota.

She watches as two bunnies take away their apple core and watch them hop away with smiles on their faces, proud to bring something home. Not a second later a twig snaps from behind them. Vivian's head spins around and jumps and pulling out her pocket knife, ready to attack. Nick had done the same. Nick turned his back and moved closer to Vivian as she did the same, both scanning their heads around the woods to find their secret attacker.
