Silent tears in the dark of the night,
Red blood trickling down my wrist.
The burning pain increases,
Night fog thinning to morning mist.
The pain clears my head,
Sharpening my murky mind
But soon enough, the pain only brings pain,
And my life starts to unwind.
And only when the sun starts to rise,
Do I realise my mistake.
Yet I still lie on my pillow and turn my head,
Never again to wake.
