ALEX'S POV

"RUN. GO. NOW." I yelled at her once again. "I love you." She said, she grabbed her phone and disappeared into the trees.

I watched her go, still holding down the 6 foot, 215 pound, twenty-seven year old that raped her so many times and has abused her in her past and in recent months. Until now. He still has a warrant out for him, he's an escaped prisoner. I just hope Delilah is smart enough to call the police on him.

"GET OFF YOU TWIT" He screams at me. I just glare at him. "No. You're the reason she left. You're the reason everything went to hell. You abused her and hurt her emotionally. The police better hope they don't have to put me behind bars for killing you." I spat.

He stared at me. Just stared. "I didn't realize you loved her that much. I-I'm sorry." He said. But I wouldn't fall for that. "Bullshit" I sneered. He looked at me, raised his eyebrow and managed to flip us to where he was on top of me. "You're right. I didn't mean that. She's mine. She will always be mine. ALWAYS" He yelled. I winced at the loudness of his voice, he raised his arm to punch me. I took it. I deserved it a little, I did steal his girl.

I took the numerous punches he delivered, often fighting back, for what seemed like hours. Occasionally I would get the leg up and manage to trap him under me and get a few swings in, but it never lasted long. No matter how muscular I was, he was more. I eventually gave up and just let the exhaustion take over.

Looked to see another punch coming for my broken and bloody face, I closed my eyes to brace myself, but I never got hit. I felt his weight get lifted off of me and then I heard a loud thud.

I sat up and looked through my swollen eyelids to see a figure punching and kicking Jake repeatedly. The figure was yelling, but I couldn't make out any words for the ringing in my ears. I caught a glimpse of his face in the moonlight.

"Tyler?"

DELILAH'S POV

"RUN. GO. NOW." He yelled once again.

"I love you." I said. And I grabbed my phone and ran.

"Hello?" Her sleepy voice rang through the speaker of my phone. "Cammi! I'm so glad you picked up!" I said as I ran as fast as I could.

"Delilah? Why are you running?" She asked me, I knew she would. "Not much time to explain. Needed to call you and tell you that if you don't see me for a few days its because Jake found Alex and I and we're currently on the run from him. Well I am" I spilled out through breaths of exhaustion from running.

I've got to keep going. I reminded myself. Alex needs me.

"Okay. Thats all I needed to know. I'll cover for your shifts at Spencers and be on the look out for any calls from you. Be careful. Love you." She said. Thats why I loved her, she understood. Even when I didn't. "I will. Love you too. Bye" and I hung up and ran towards the street lights I saw.

"911 Whats your emergency?" The operator asked. "This is Delilah Barns. Jake, the fugitive, is here. At the train station. He's been holding me hostage for five months. Alex Wilson is at the train station trying to keep him there. Please send help." I said desperately needing air. "Thank you for calling Delilah. I'll send someone out immediately" "Thank you!" I hung up the phone and started towards the city lights of Greensboro.

I heard the sirens and hoped they made it in time. I don't know if I could possibly live if Alex was killed because of me. I ran to my apartment and got all of my belongings out. I threw everything into the Jeep and took off towards Alex's house like a madwoman.

Luckily I still have a key.

I pulled into the garage so my Jeep would be hidden. I stepped into the house and the memories hit me at once.

The smell of his shampoo, the endless nights of us falling asleep on the couch, the movies, the smell of bacon and pancakes almost every morning, when Tyler visited and made those two and a half weeks quite interesting.

I missed Alex so badly, I even prayed for him to come save me and he did, and now I've gone and fucked it all up again.

I passed the time by pacing the floor. I walked the house at least fourteen times making sure everything was locked and secure. I checked every nook and cranny of the house to be sure Jake didn't beat me here and would later attack me.

I paced the kitchen, eating a few bites of food since I don't know when I last ate.

I paced the living room watching the news to see what was going on and if my love was alive.

Hours passed and I hadn't seen anything on TV or heard anything from Alex. I started to panic. I needed him to be okay or I would never be okay again. I needed to feel him in my arms again. I needed to be able to tell him I love him as I drift off into a deep sleep with him by my side. I needed him. Period.

Thats when I heard the knock on the front door.
