I don't deserve a saviour,

I've got to work this out on my own.

I don't deserve an angel,

To heal my heavy heart of stone.

I don't deserve a hero,

When all I can offer is a smile.

I don't deserve a protector,

Others are suffering all the while.

I don't deserve a guardian,

As even though it hurts it'll go away.

I don't deserve a companion,

Because I can still make it through the day.

I don't deserve a defender,

To help me through to the end.

I don't deserve much,

But everyone deserves a friend.
