It was the year 2027 when all hell broke loose in my semi-large town of Alexandria. My name's Veronica Bluebell, and I sadly happened to be alive when something everyone thought was only in movies and never would go down in real life, went down. I remember exactly how it happened, too; I was in the middle of soccer practice when all of a sudden everyone on the field said to evacuate the area immediately. Everyone looked dazed, and no one saw why we needed to evacuate so urgently. My mother, Carrie Bluebell, wasn't at the game, so I tried to call her.
Now, if you knew my mom, you would know that she ALWAYS answers her phone for anyone; but this time, she didn't. This put me at a feeling of uneasiness and worry knowing that my mom might be in danger. "Hey, is your phone working? Mine isn't even ringing anymore." said my teammate, Jess. Before I could answer, my mom pulled up and yelled "Get in the car, now!" and I ran over and asked why she didn't answer her phone. "My phone isn't working for some reason, but we need to head to Hedgers to get food and supplies before all of it gets taken." she said.
Hedgers is basically a larger version of Wal-mart here, if you're wondering. We got to Hedgers safely, but we saw at least 1000 people in the store, frantically grabbing whatever they could off the shelves. We ran in and grabbed a cart and filled it with tins of food, water bottle packs, sweets, first aid kits, inhalers, pain meds, clothes, and can openers. We didn't even have to pay since everyone and their brother's were going crazy thinking something was about to go down. My initial thought was that it was a nuclear war, since we were in rocky terms with Russia at the time. When I went outside, I saw what was really wrong. This is how I knew shit had hit the fan. What I saw, was nothing more than what I can describe as Zombies.
