The Fate

    Hello, my name is Rachel Ross, and today is the day I die.

I am the daughter of Aphrodite. You might think “How’s that possible?” Well the Greek gods are still living. Lets go back two weeks. I was walking down to the mess hall with Josh. I had heard rumors that “the one is here.” Hope that’s true. So Josh suggested that we jog down there. I didn’t want to jog but he won the fight.

    When we got there it was packed. Even though we had certain tables to sit at. I went to my “Aphrodite” table and Josh went to the “Ares” table. Chiron came to the podium.“Welcome Percy Jackson!” he said with a booming voice. Loud Cheers went through the crowd. I hate him. I didn’t cheer because he disgusts me.  He’s horrible and stupid. I ate and I talked with my friends at my table.

“ Do you like the new guy ‘Percy Jackson’?” Claire asked. She’s my best friend at camp.

“ Not really. I think he’s show off.” I say.

“ Yeah I agree.” She says back. That’s the thing, Claire agrees with me too much and I don’t like it.

“ Claire,” I begin.

“ What?” Claire says.

“ Express your own feelings, please.” I say. As I say that, she looks down. Now I feel bad. Guilty. Mean. Selfish. Gosh, I am an daughter of Aphrodite. I should watch out for myself.

At the end of dinner I walked over to Josh’s table.

“ Hey Josh, your girlfriend is here.” Says one of his friends. Me and Josh both shot him a glare that said “ back off now or else. . . .” He just held up his hands, like he was Innocent. Yeah right. Like he’s innocent!

“ Let’s go somewhere else other than here.” I say.

“ Yeah” Josh says. I’m sad because this is the night I have to dump him. My mom said that I can’t have a relationship for no more than 2 months and actually It’s been about 3 months. So if my mom finds out that I've been dating him for that long, she will kill him. Literally. Sad, right?

    As we walked down to the lake I feel uncomfortable.

“ Um. . . . I’m really sorry but . . .”I start. But as I say that his footsteps in the water.

“ I have to . . .” I say. All of the sudden he starts screaming and falls through the

water within 3 seconds. I start screaming too. Soon everybody is gathering around me and the lake. Chiron came up to me and said:

“ Stop screaming, it hurts my ears! What’s the problem?”

“ Josh . . . . .Josh . . . .” I say.

“ Josh what?” Chiron asks. Now Percy is standing next to Chiron.

“ Josh . . . .” I start as I manage a sob. ” Josh fell through the water. Help him! Help him!”

“ We will help him. But first show us how it happened.” Chiron said. That was the mistake. Making me do what Josh did.

“ We were walking and talking and all of the sudden he screamed and fell through the water like this”I say. I walked at the water's edge and fell through just like Josh did. As I fell I heard Several shrieks and screams. I looked down at my feet. I saw a weed type thing taking me down farther and farther. I saw Josh there. He seemed to be trying to cut it off. He looked up at me and shook his head. I knew what it meant. There is no going back now. This is my fate. Just I had begun to lose hope, Percy dove in the water with his sword in hand. He was  breathing underwater. What?! No one can breathe underwater! I thought. Oh wait, he’s son of Poseidon. He can.
