Wes' P.O.V.

I woke up on the cold, hard bathroom floor. I was freezing. I wrapped my tail around myself, attempting to get warm. The memories of last night filled my head. I wasn't sure if I was mad at Lou or not. I heard yelling from the bedroom. It sounded like Lou and a man. Maybe it was her father. Wait, isn't her father the king? I whimpered. I unlocked the door, just in case, then hid in the bathtub. Soon the yelling stopped. The bathroom door opened up slowly. I hid my face in my arms. Tears started to brim in my eyes. What was he going to do to me?

"Is that her?" I heard the king ask calmly.

"Yes Father." Lou answered.

I looked up to see Lou and the king. I gulped. Tears dripped from my eyes. My ears pressed against my head. My tail wrapped around my waist.

"Lou-"

"Please Father. Let me train her." Lou begged. "Please."

The king glared at me. He had no emotion on his face at all. I gave a small pout. I could see sadness flicker into his eyes quickly. He sighed in defeat.

"Follow me flea ball." The king demanded.

King Edward's P.O.V.

The hybrid nodded at my demand and followed me out of the bathroom. We walked down a long hallway until we got to my bedroom. I opened up the door and walked in. The hybrid did too. I closed the door and locked it.

"What's your name hybrid?" I questioned. My voice was cold.

"Wes." The hybrid blurted out in a squeak.

"How old are you?"

"Wes is 14 but Wes will be 15 in three weeks."

Wes held up four fingers to symbolize the number of weeks until her birthday. I chuckled at her mistake and put one of her fingers down to correct her. She cowered as I did that. Her ears folded down and her tail drooped. My heart sank at the sight. It was never me that hated hybrids. It was my sister, Melissa. She wanted to form the laws against hybrids after the incident. She hated hybrids ever since the incident.

"I'm not going to hurt you Wes." I promised.

"Why should Wes trust you?" The little kitten whimpered.

"Because I don't hate hybrids."

Wes looked at me in disbelief. She tilted her head to the side in confusion. I just nodded. I sat down on my large bed. I patted the space next to me. Wes hesitated but sat down next to me. I reached over and rubbed her ear. She tensed up at first then let me continue.

"It's my sister who hates hybrids." I explained. "Many years ago, a hybrid attacked her and she was put into a hospital. When the government fell, she made me rise as king and make the laws against hybrids. So you see Wes, I don't really hate hybrids. It's just an act."

Wes gave me a blank stare. I chuckled slightly. She really looked like a kitten. I continued to pet her ears. She purred in approval. Seriously, how could Melissa hate these adorable creatures?

"Wes." I spoke, causing the little kitten to look up. "I would love for you to stay."

"R-really?" Wes stuttered.

"Of course! But I only have a few rules." Wes nodded and tilted her head to the side before I continued. "First, you cannot tell anyone about this talk. Second, you have let Lou teach you. Third, you cannot let anyone else find out that you're a hybrid. And finally, you will act like family and NOT a pet."

Wes looked at me in shock at the last rule. I gave her a toothy grin

"If you act like family, then we will treat you like family." I told her. "So do we have a deal?"

Wes nodded quickly, a small smile crawling onto her face. My smile grew larger. I shooed her out of the room. Once she was gone, I sighed heavily. I’m going to make a vow right now. If Wes shows that she can act like family and she can respect that then I'll lift the laws against hybrids. That is my vow to myself and it's all up to Wes. I hope she won't let me down. No, I know that she won't let me down.

Lou's P.O.V.

It's been about a week since I've started teaching Wes and she has made great progress. She doesn't speak in the third person anymore, which I kind of miss because it was really cute. She's learned to read, write and how to do some math as well. She makes mistakes every once in awhile but I either correct her or she corrects herself. I still can't believe that Father let me keep Wes. I mean… The laws and all.

"Boo?" I heard Wes squeak from the bed.

I smiled at Wes' nickname for me. It's not that creative but my kitten came up with it, so it's cute. I turned around from the laptop to look at Wes. She had a light blush on her face. Her tail was in her lap. She gave me a small pout.

"W-would you… Um… I m-mean. N-never mind…" Wes trailed off.

"Kitten what is it?" I asked a little concerned.

"I-I just w-was wondering if yo-you would cuddle with m-me." Wes spoke so soft that it was almost like a whisper.

I smiled. Wes’'blush darkened. I shut my laptop then got up. I walked over to the bed. I lied down and pulled Wes into my chest. She was a bit smaller than me so she fit perfectly in my arms. I started to pet her head. She purred slightly, which made me smile. Wes has been cuddly ever since she got used to me, which was the second day she was here.

"My little kitten." I mumbled.

"What?" Wes asked as she looked up.

"You're my little kitten. Aren't you? And I'm your Boo."

Another blush washed across Wes' face. She was truly adorably. She nodded. I kissed her nose. Her cheeks started to burn red. Why was she so adorable?

"Boo you know that my birthday is in two weeks, right?" Wes asked out of nowhere.

"Of course I do!" I said. I was a bit hurt that she had to ask me that.

"Good."

Wes cuddled even closer to me. I pressed a small kiss to her nose and continued to pet her head. The soft purring still left her small mouth. Soon the purring stopped and was replaced by quiet snores, telling me that Wes had fallen asleep. I chuckled and closed my eyes, eventually falling into a deep sleep.

I cracked my eyes open. I closed them again quickly then I was hit with light. I rolled over and landed on something. Whatever it was hissed. I felt a minor pain in my side. I yelped and jumped up. I looked down to see Wes. She was looking at her hand like it was a monster. She looked up at me. Her eyes held quilt and tears.

"I-I didn't me-mean it! I-I swear!" Wes cried. "It was an ac-accident!"

"It's alright kitten." I assured her with a smile.

Wes still looked guilty but she nodded. I heard her mumbled something about her being a bad cat but I couldn't be sure. I placed a long kiss on Wes' forehead before going into the bathroom. I lifted up my shirt to see what Wes had done. There were a few small scratches but they weren’t bad. Thankfully, there was no blood. I let my shirt fall back into its place. I walked out of the bathroom. Wes was on the bed in the fetal position. She was still mumbling to herself. I felt so bad for her.

"Wes let's go out today." I said.

"Where Boo?" Wes questioned, her ears perking up and her head tilting to the side.

"You’ll see."
