astrid isabelle chaudoir

astrid was born in paris to two struggling artists who cared for her more than anything in the world. they taught her that there is beauty and poetry in everything and that material items do not matter in life but rather happiness. growing up, her family was either living at her grandmother's house in normandie, cramped in a tiny apartment at the outskirts of paris or in the train station where her father worked at a kiosk some of the time. whenever they could, they'd explore the city or countryside, fueling astrid's love for exploration and adventure. she grew up on reading books as often as possible and fixing up old, thrifted clothing but when her grandmother found a few old cameras in her attic-- photography became the center of astrid's life. whenever she could, she'd collect as many coins and bills as she could find so that she [could] buy film, shoot pictures and get them developed and printed. she has all of her photos in multiple albums with a few of them around her apartment.
(rewind a bit) at the age of sixteen, her mother died of a heroin overdose, leaving her father an absolute mess. he died shortly thereafter (a week later), due to the same cause.
her grandmother sent her to new york city after to study art and photography at the school of visual arts. she is currently a junior in college and living in a studio apartment, that her grandmother rents out for her, with her kitten-- jacques.

astrid is somewhat reserved but only for fear of being hurt. she is very friendly and enjoys making people smile.
