There was a reason why John had trust issues.
And that reason was Sherlock.
Of course it didn't all stem from Sherlock but that idiot was still responsible for those issues flaring up in him like a fire blazing. Believe it or not, John had one too many reasons even before the fall.
The Fall. The Fall. The F-a-l-l. John repeated it over and over again in his head until it didn't make sense. And like every other time, any thoughts of The Fall leads to John remembering the still body on Bart's sidewalk, blood pooling around that curly head like a halo - stop right there. Don't go any further. Lock it deep down somewhere it'll never see the light.
"Goodbye John"
'Good Lord', John thought. He was starting to think that he had PTSD apart from the one he got from the army. It seems like Sherlock was determined to be the root of every problem he is going to face.
"There's someone here to see you"
John looked up and saw Mary and Mrs. Hudson in the doorway, looking at him intently.
John got up to see who was the one who worried his lover and Mrs. Hudson. Mary was tough and knows how to take care of herself, so if something has worried her, it was something to look into. And if anyone had hurt Mrs. Hudson, there is hell to pay. With that thought in mind, he went to the door to greet whoever that was. He was met with a familiar face that lit up when he saw John. He'd recognize that person anywhere. It was Bill Murray.
"Johnny, my man! How are you? Did you miss me?"
John flinched when he heard those four words but nevertheless, he replied casually, "Bill! Yeah, you bet I did!"
"Oh good, I thought it was just a one-sided thing I have going on," Bill teased.
"How are you lately? Any exciting updates?," John asked.
"As a matter of fact, YES! That's why I'm here. I'd like to invite all of you to my wedding!," Bill related happily.
"Congrats Bill! Hey! I have an incredible idea! What if we merged our weddings? The whole army could be invited, and it also can be an army reunion, of some sorts," John said excitedly. "I mean, if it is okay with everyone."
"Why, but that's a wonderful idea!," exclaimed Mary with nods of approval from Bill.
"Well that settles it. We'll plan out the wedding when Bill brings his bride here," Mrs. Hudson said.
"I guess I'll drink to that!" John said while holding up his drink.

As the days flew by, the wedding crew were planning everything. The venue, date, caterer and most importantly, the tux and dress. Invitations were sent out to every nook and cranny of London where their army friends were staying. Replies came immediately saying that they wouldn't miss the wedding for the world.

The day is finally here, John thought to himself. A lone tear dropped from his eye as he thought about the curly - haired freak. He quickly wiped the tear from his face as he didn't want Mary thinking he had second thoughts about having the wedding without his best friend by his side.
The chapel was filled with the sounds of laughter and nostalgia from the 'good ol' days' during the army. As the grooms waited at the pew while their beautiful brides walked down the aisle, a weird feeling went down John's spine. He shook it of as nervousness. After the vows were said, and the bouquets thrown in the air, another chill ran down John's spine.
"You alright mate? ," Bill asked John with a perplexed look on his face.
'Y-Yeah. Just the thought of not being able to sneak out at night anymore without Mary noticing," John said, laughing.
Bill clapped his hand on John's back, joining in the laughter.
As the familiar presence filled the air once more, John had it. "No, no, no. He's dead. Man up, John," he muttered to himself.
As gasps and shocked voices went around the chapel, that's when John saw him. He couldn't mistake those amazing eyes and curly hair. And at that very moment is the time that dear Sherlock decided to rise over everyone saying "Well, hello John! Did you miss me?"
