He awoke. A beautiful blue bedroom, and the most comfortable sheets in the world, shining a wonderful vibrant white. When he moved, he awoke his friend. She opened her large eyes and blinked to re-acquire lost moisture. "You're beautiful." he whispered. "My beauty" she paused, "-is an acquired taste." Quite frankly he was surprised to get such a quick reply.

"Food is ready, get your asses in here!" exclaimed Kai, from the kitchen. At one point he loved them both, as if they were all one big happy family. They weren't family, however the shared love was unconditional. He couldn't be with one, but he didn't entirely want to be with the other. "What did you throw together today Kai?" he asked. "I made us all espresso so you're welcome in advance, but I also made Ham and cheese omelets. I think you'll enjoy." he said in a soft welcoming tone. "I always enjoy when it involves you." he said whilst stroking his cheek and giving a tight hug. Although it was a quick hug, Kai still gave him a tight squeeze. "Oh shut up Andrew. We all know my food is an acquired taste." he said through a light giggle.

Heavy footsteps seemed to engulf the small home. Not heavy, but for someone of such size they were loud. "Good morning angel" Kai screamed down the hallway. "Shut up Kai" she said emerging from the depths of the dark to enter the kitchen. Her looks were focused everywhere. Her eyes waved back and forth between Kai and Andrew. This seemed to be a routine for her to seem confused, but this morning she seemed nervous, not confused, but nervous. Her eyes danced around the room like a prima ballerina. They waved from the inside of the fridge towards the coffee pot, and seemingly back to Andrew and Kai. She was looking past them onto the stove, where Kai had covered the food to keep warm. Sophia reached to the right of the fridge, her short hazel nut colored hair seemed to follow her in a slow motion. She grabbed three glasses, all fitting for the person of ownership. The first, a medium sized coffee cup that was a clear, yet dark blue glass. The second, a tall coffee cup that resembled that of a pear with a large opening at the top. The third, a double walled tumbler that was short and layered with extremely small owls.

Andrew had always been larger than most. Despite his size, which was nothing too big anyway, He was always curious in the ways of other people. he was a great lover and always wanted everything to be in plain sight. His coffee cup was blue, and clear. Sophia, she hasn't always been this beautiful. Andrew didn't know her very well until recently, yet he's seen her before. Her beauty was an acquired taste but you'd be surprised how quick one may acquire a taste for all things beautiful. Her coffee cup was unique, and new, but authentic, handmade, hence the pear shaped pottery. Kai however, Kai had always been tall and blond. He was very handsome, yet he was also very skinny and he hated it. Everyone gets made fun of but Kai and Andrew were shamed for their weight, or the lack there of. Him and Andrew seemed an odd pair of friends, yet they were more perfect and alike than most could imagine. Kai drank from a tumbler that was covered in colorful miniature owls, yet it was clear plastic that sweat more profusely than Andrew on a 100 degree day in Opal, Georgia. Kai, and Sophia alike, are his very best friends.

Kai was sitting at the table waiting, for his guests to sit with him. The table was set and prepared for a beautiful meal. the small clear glass cups holding the creamy espresso, The white plates reflecting the light off of the practically glass wall of windows behind Sophia. Kai loved nature, the thrill of all things natural, and the wind blowing through his forever soft hair when he was riding his motor bike, or simply driving with the windows down. Sophia cared for nature but she had always been passionate about photography. He never knew why she wouldn't accept him, his love and compassion. He always thought she enjoyed the tones, the colors, and the balance. Not the nature, but the balance of nature. He always thought photography was useless. One day he forgot the face of one of his many late grandmothers. Photography has been his go-to ever since. Andrew loved nature, not everything it came with but nature itself. The peace, and serenity, the isolation, and the colors.

"Is today a jesus day?" asked Sophia. "Everyday is a jesus day in my house." Andrew politely whispered. "Okay then, let us pray" said Kai to calm things down. It was Kai's way to lighten the mood. " I will say grace. bow your heads, hold each others hands, let us pray." He gave Sophia a glare as if to scream at her to take Kai's hand across the table. Andrew sat at the head of the table so his distance was not that great and he is capable of holding everyones hand. "Dear Lord, my friends and I are calling upon you today to bless this wonderful food we are about to eat, and to request everyones safety and everlasting love. God, please forgive us for our sins and please re-enter our hearts and allow us into your evergreen palace once our sins are forgiven. Amen"

Kai picked up the odd tumbler and drank from it. The milk that Sophia had poured earlier had small ice crystals from the five or six minutes every morning that she had always placed the glasses in the sliding freezer. The milk was always good when Sophia froze it. "Thanks for this shit, it's good." said Kai with a slight milk line on his top lip, raising his glass as if to salute her skills. Sophia got up from the table in order to place her espresso glass in the large farmhouse sink. "No, thank you" she said sarcastically and the tone came with a wink.

They all ate and drank away, and then placed their dishes in the appropriate place in the dishwasher, to the left of the sink. Afterwards, they dismissed themselves.
