Nightmare on elm street is based on a true event there was a little boy who die in his sleep, He complained to his mum and dad about the nightmares he was having about a man who tried to kill him. They over looked it and didn't realize how serious it was, The boy would stay up for days avoiding sleep. When his parents found him he was dead in his bed and they also found 3 slashes on the boys stomach.
