As children, we are all taught the relativity of time and space, we are taught how to swim through the stars, and we are taught that we can live on the moons. The stars are our reading light and the dark side of the planets our nightmares. We touch our noses with a wink at the shooting stars, wishing good luck and blessing upon us. We knock on the rock at the entries of astroids to ward off the space dust that floats in black vapors through space.
Jean flips through the pages of a book and glances up to see the meteors shower the skies. Its like white rain against the blue-black sky. He turns down the flame of the lantern next to him and watches the great black rocks with red tails burst across the sky. They grow white hot in the atmosphere then dissapear once more in orbit. The great forest giant's hands shiver beneath Jean. The earth and grass the beast had dug up to hold and let Jean sit on to observe him quaked with a miny earthquake. The giant was facinated by these glowing stars. The massive creatures silver eyes could be seen through mossy, dirt-caked hair. It made a gurgling sound deep in its chest like talking.
The giant sat down hard while still holding Jean up on his makeshift island of dirt and grass, and watched as the rest of the meteors raced over the sky. There were too many to count that had past, so Jean simply winked as one last rock blazed across the night sky.
The giant was so immersed in watching the sky that the dirt started to fall between its massive fingers. Jean climbed up along its grass covered arms and climbed onto the tree that jutted out of side of the creatures head. He perched himself there. The sky was black agian.
Jean smiled and leaned over to tap the giant on the head. It shook its head with a grunt and turned towards home. The massive space craft waited at the edge of the woods to take them back home. Jean could see Kayoko standing in the wide, gapping entrance of the craft, waiting for him. He yelled her name and clambered down the giant to slamb her into the ground. She only grumbled and strangled him with her scarf.
