*Jessamine's POV*I woke up, my head pounding- as if were being hit with a hammer, and my vision blurry.
When my vision cleared, I looked around but squinted my eyes because of the harsh white lighting. My whole body felt numb, I felt like I was floating. The only thing I felt was my head, the pain, that caused me to wince.
When I tried to touch my head, my wrists began to burn. I looked down at them, my eyes barely opened. They were purple, red, and bloody. They were bandaged, but it was obvious due to the color that surrounded it and how the blood shown through the gauze.
I sighed shakily, and soon realized where I was. The beeps from the machines. The bags of fluid hanging.
I was in the hospital.
I stared at my surroundings. I thought to myself, "How did I get here? How did this happen? Most importantly, how did I let it happen?'
I was interrupted from my thoughts, when I saw a man with a clipboard, who seemed to be a doctor, walked into the room. I noticed a girl behind him, and two adults.
The girl ran through the doorway and stopped by my side, tears streaming down her face. I raised an eyebrow, confused as to why she was here, and why she was crying and had looked like she had been for a while.
One of the adults of whom the girl looked like started crying, also. The man that was holding her hand wrapped his arms around her.
The doctor came to my side and asked me quiestions, then gave me a pain killer type of medicine.
After some time of sitting and listening to music that the girl provided me with, the pain killers began to work. I tried speaking some lyrics to the song I was listening to and I could talk, but my voice was all hoarse and scratchy. But still, I could communicate by talking. Although, it might be the slightest bit hard to understand me when I talk because I sounded like I had been smoking since the day I was born.
I took off the headphones I was wearing and stared at the girl. She looked like she was my age. And she seemed familiar, but I don't know her. Why is she even here?
When she caught me staring at her, I guess she noticed how I was feeling. She frowned, "What's wrong?"
"Why are you here?" I asked.
She weakly smiled. "Because that's what best friends are for."
I squinted my eyes at her. "Who are you?"
