"Owwwwwie" cried Xavier, tripping over his mat. He was holding a plate of tostitos pizza bites and was heading over to play video-games with his two buddies, Nathalie and Alan. The two of them at the moment, couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Not funny guys!" said Xavier, holding his throbbing big toe. "Sorry, you're right, its not funny," says, Alan, "It's hilarious!" More laughter coming from the two of them.

All three of them were 17 years old, going to the same school. They knew each other since sixth grade, and remained friends since. While Xavier was from the West Indies, (Trinidad to be more exact..) Nathalie and Alan were from the Dominican Republic. Xavier was shorter than the two of them, but it didn't matter to him, and in his mind, he shipped Nathalie and Alan. What a cute couple.

Xaviers parents weren't due home for another couple of weeks since they were at a meeting in England. So he invited over his friends to keep him some company and he wont go insane from being bored. He was going back to reheat some more bites when heard Nathalie scream.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH" she cried.

"What happened?!" Xavier yelled, running towards her. She pointed a shaky finger to the window. There was the most hideous creature that he had ever seen. It was watching them through the window, a creepy grin coming across the creatures face. All three of them began backing away from the window. Xavier grabbed his dad's shotgun and loaded it, pointing it at the beast.

"I"VE BEEN WATCHING YOU ALL" It said with a raspy voice.  "I KNOW YOU ALL. I WANT ALL OF YOU TO JOIN ME AND MY LITTLE TOYS."

But nobody was there to listen at that point. They had all ran upstairs into the armory. ( Xaviers father used to be a military guard for the president, retired, then turned businessman.) They closed the vault door behind them and locked the door. "I've seen that thing before, on the news. I'ts called the Rake Monster. It was killing the local livestock, and put them in obscure positions." Said Alan. He was on his phone, pulling up a picture. He showed it to them:

"It was found on a corpse's phone

"It was found on a corpse's phone. The body was a mangled mess." He said, shaking his head. At this point, nobody knew what to do. Everyone in the room was very frightened as to what layed outside of the house.

Suddenly there was a loud crash, the sound of shattering glass.

"I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE! THERE'S NO HIDING, MY LITTLE TOYS!" The monster said, in it's raspy voice.

"I know what to do."

Nathalie and Alan looked at Xavier like he was crazy. He didn't mind it though. He was the least expected to take charge, and he was the weaker one out of the three of them. But when he has a gut feeling, he knows what to do.

"Grab a weapon, and fill up on ammo clips. Grab a thermal and night vision camera and goggles, and, if you want, Kevlar."

"Would your dad mind?"

"He wouldn't care as long as we live."

Alan gave a disappointed look at the armory. He looked around, searching through the shelves to find what he was looking for. Finally he found it, a M16A2 rifle, with armor piercing rounds.

Nathalie was looking for good pistols, and couldn't decide between a 9mm Parabellum or a .357 Magnum.

Xavier was looking for his M4 Carbine, a gift from his father. It was better that the M16, and was suited for his needs.

Suddenly they heard the sound of thumping growing louder. And Louder And LOUDER.

Finally it stopped, and Alan put his head to the door, listening.

The lights flickered, and went out.

Nathalie looked around, scared.

BLAM

The door flew open and everyone quickly flipped on their goggles/camera.

"Guys" Xavier whispered, "Theres trap door here." He beckoned for them to come, and helped them down into the cellar. Then Xaviers camera got a flicker of movement.

He quickly shut the door, and locked it from the underneath. He jumped down into the dark abyss of a cellar.

"What is this place, Xavier?" asked Nathalie, looking around. She flipped a switch, finding it dead.

"It used to be a wine cellar from the previous owner. When we bought the house, we sold all the wine to get money for college."

"I don't think your smart enough to get into college."

Nathalie chuckled, finding Alan's joke funny.

"I guess you're a bit salty I scored higher on the mock exams, my friend. I don't blame you, anyone would be. Come on, there's an exit somewhere over there." He pointed towards a tunnel heading around the corner.

With their goggles on, they started towards the exit. Behind them, from around the corner, they missed the Rake watching them.
