Chapter one-Hogwarts accepts hybrids?

Ava sits at the long table with her fellow students. Well, she's new as are the rest but soon they will be students.

Bunches of food is placed in front of them. Her eyes widen at the sight of the delicious looking food. Ava leans back and looks left and right. When she sees no one watching she devours a cupcake.

Today is the start-of-term feast. It's the 1st of September and it's 7pm. Ava yawns and rubs her eyes a little. People stare at her as she yawns causing her eyes to go purple in anger.

"What?"The brunette snaps. "You never seen someone yawn?"She asks angrily.

They all cower away and her eyes go back to normal. She smiles to them all as though nothing had happened. Ava sighs and taps her nails against the table, bored.

Ava smith is a hybrid. She's a mix of a wizard and a mermaid. No one has ever seen this before and it's shocked the staff. However, Dumbledore accepted her as he thinks she has great potential.

"Ava smith,"They finally call her name.

As she walks down the gap people stare at her. They sit, praying that she's not a Slytherin, watching her anxiously. Once they place the hat on her she smirks.

"Ava smith,"The sorting hat says and tuts.

"You're a mix of everything. A spice of nice but a spice of bad too. This may take me longer to decide,"The sorting hat says.

Ava sighs and crosses her arms with a huff. She stares at the ceiling as the sorting hat decides.

"I can't decided,"The hat pauses. "Put her into a spare room and I'll have an answer soon,"The hat huffs angrily.

Someone takes the hat off Ava's head. She hops up and mutters some naughty words. Ava stomps back to her seat and plops back in.

She doesn't bother to check, and shoves a slice of cake into her mouth. Chocolate gets all over her mouth and she uses her sleeve to wipe it away.

"What?"She asks someone with a mouthful of cake.

The person makes a face of disgust and turns away. She rolls her eyes a mimics their actions.

"I'm the bloody undecided girl,"Ava groans.

So, Ava is a hybrid then. I'm sort of loving but hating her attitude in this chapter. I usually roll my eyes a lot at school but not this much. Like come on, she's at Hogwarts, my dream school.
