You tie a rope around a small fence. "No, no, no, you're doing it wrong!" Gally, your boss, exclaims for the fifth time this morning, running over to you.

You drop the twine of rope and stand up, your hands planted at your hips. "If you would take the time to teach me how to make the fences, maybe I'd be of more use!" You snap, losing your temper. "I'm new here, okay? I have no idea what's going and nobody is telling me anything. How do you think that makes me feel?!" You exclaim.

The rest of the builders slowly look at you, their eyebrows raised at you yelling at Gally. Gally glances at the builders, frowning, and then looks back to you.

"Let's take this somewhere private." He says, taking your arm and moving you away from the group. You wrench your arm from his grasp and glare at him. Gally glares back at you and takes your arm again, stalking off with you.

Once you're away from everyone and beneath the cover of trees, Gally turns you to face him. You cross your arms and stare at him.

"Look, I know how hard it must be for you, Y/N, okay? Really, I do. But just because you're new doesn't mean I can give you any special treatment." He states.

"Special treatment?!" You sputter. "Gally, I just want someone to teach me how to be a builder. I didn't come to this maze knowing everything. It's just the opposite!"

"Oh." Gally replies, his eyebrows raised in surprise. "So you don't want to get the easy jobs or anything?" He inquires.

You gawk. "I'm ready to be working along side the rest of you and your builders. I just need someone to show me the ropes of being a builder. I can't learn it on my own because you're always yelling at me." You say.

Gally winces and runs a hand through his hair. "Yeah, sorry about that." He says.

You clear your throat. "It's fine." You mutter.

"Okay, so how about to compensate me yelling at you for the past week, I teach you how to be a builder?" He asks.

A smile splits across your face. "Really?" You ask.

Gally nods, smiling. "Really." He confirms.

"Thank you so much." You breathe.

Gally half grins and then puts a hand on your shoulder. "Lesson one starts right now." He states, guiding you towards the builders. You grin.

On the night of your six month anniversary of being in the maze, you can't sleep. The rest of Gladers are sound asleep and snoring. You sigh and swing out of your hammock. Despite missing home, whatever that is, you feel like being with the Gladers is you second home, especially with Gally. You smile at the thought of him.

You spent everyday for the past six months with Gally and the rest of the builders. They consume almost all of your time. You really, really like Gally and you think he likes you too.

You walk away from the small encampment of Gladers and stand in the middle of the Glade, sighing. You sit down on the ground and look up at the sky.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Gally asks. You softly gasp and turn towards his voice. He walks towards you and then sits beside you.

"Couldn't sleep either?" You question. He shakes his head and pulls his knees to his chest.

"It's my six month anniversary of being here." You state.

Gally looks at you, frowning. "Already?" He asks.

You nod, frowning. "Yeah." You murmur, looking down.

"Are you okay?" He asks softly.

You shrug lightly. "I don't know." You sigh. "Being here always seems worse in night than it does in morning." You laugh, tears burning in your eyes.

"Hey." Gally breathes, tilting your face to look at him. "It's going to be okay, Y/N. One day we will get out of here." He says.

"And what if we don't? Are we all going to grow old and watch each other die to pass the time?" You ask. A tear slides down your cheek and Gally gently swipes it away with his thumb.

"No. That's not going to be our fate." He whispers. Gally's thumb trails your bottom lip and he stares at your mouth. Your breath catches in your throat. Gally and you both lean in towards each other. He kisses you softly and your eyes flutter closed.

A long moment later you both part. He smiles at you, running his thumb over your cheek bone as you smile back. He wraps his arm around your shoulders and pulls you to his side. You lay your head on his shoulder, your eyes closing.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
