3 Silver Stones

Chapter 1-The beginning

All night a thought passed my mind as I woke up to see my friends out the window. School just ended and I promised my friends we would go somewhere "special". They never told me where but as I walked down the stairs on the porch I asked them where we were going. " I've been told there is this forest with magical things in it!" Lily answered with excitement."We are going to see if these rumors are real but they are probably just myths." Aydan said with a strong glare at Lily. "Fine but let me tell my mom before we go" I said as I walked back into the house. I left a note saying "Dear mom, I went with my friends on a road trip to see if some rumor is true, I'll probably be back later." I walked back to the porch and entered Aydan's truck.

We started driving to a swampy forest with little animals or plants. Suddenly we stopped and started sinking. The truck sunk faster as we jumped out. Aydan stares at the truck as it goes down into the mud." My dad's gonna kill me..." He murmured. As soon as the truck sunk 3 stone pillars rose out of the ground with a glass dome on each.

"What the heck is this?" Aydan says stressfully. Lily touches the dusty glass dome and picks it up and sees a silver coin with a leaf symbol on it. Justin picks up the dome to another pillar and finds the same silver coin with a water droplet symbol on it. "These might have value...somewhere..."Says Aydan flipping the coin. " I think these could be magic!" Lily says excitingly as a strong believer."Sure...Hey maybe if I get one more I can buy a new truck..."Aydan says reaching for the third dome.The dome somehow electrocutes him when he tries to grab it."OW!"Aydan yells as he shakes his hand.I reach for the dome and touch it. I didn't shock me surprisingly, so I lift up the dome only to find nothing but a single twig inside. "Well that's disappointing" I said as I put the twig back on the pillar. As soon as I put it down I noticed a small hole in the center of the pillar. I pick up the twig and put it in the hole. It catches on fire and a 3rd silver coin appears on the pillar. One with the symbol of fire. I pick it up and wonder how it appeared out of nowhere.

We walk to the creek and start looking at the water and Lily slips into creek and hits her head on the side of the creek. Aydan jumps in to save her. He swims closer and coughs from a rock hitting his throat but then he realized he was still under water. He took a deep breath and he realizes he has the ability to breath under water! He rushes to Lily and grabs her and comes back to the surface."Are you ok?!" I yell as I rush to him and Lily to check if they're ok. Lily wakes up and Aydan talks about his experience. Lily and I stare in shock. Aydan doesn't believe in magic so he might be lying. He starts to go in the water until he is all the way under. He takes a deep breath underwater. We watch in shock as he comes back up to the surface." How did you do that!?!?" I say astonished by his ability. " I don't know..."Aydan says while staring at the coin."That symbol... is that water?" Lily said while looking at the strange coin.

"Maybe these really are magic!"

A rabbit comes close to lily and lily reaches down to pet it. "Is this normal bunny behavior"Aydan says confused about the rabbit is staying."Pet rabbits yes, but wild rabbits...not even close..." I answered also confused. I come close to the rabbit and it backs up slowly. I reach down to pet it and it turns and runs away.

"Maybe Lily is right...Maybe just maybe these coins are..."Aydan pauses and stares at his coin."Magic?"I finish his sentence.

Lily jumps with excitement."Yay!...Does that mean we have superpowers?" "I think this is just a big misunderstanding...or just a dream...right?" Aydan says stressfully still thinking about the truck. I pinch Aydan. "OW! What was that for!?" Aydan yells. "Proof" I answer. "Proof for what?!" Aydan yells again. "Proof this is not a dream." I said with a strong glare at Aydan.

Aydan sits down and thinks about how they will get home. "With no access to a vehicle in the middle of a "magic" swamp, how will we get home now..." Aydan says sadly to me and lily. "Well maybe... there is something in this swamp that will get us home..." Lily explains now remembering we have no vehicle. "Like what?! Huh!...Just think about will ya..." Aydan yells at lily stressfully walking back to the creek."I'll go talk to him..." I said to Lily walking to the creek."Aydan..." I say to Aydan sitting down next to him.

"What do you want?..."Aydan said stressfully."...We'll find our way home one way or another..."

I said trying to cheer him up. "Sure..." Aydan says softly and quietly.

AHHH!!! Me and Aydan run to the sound. Lily screams being surrounded by wolves. One pounces at her and she guards her face with her hands. The ground shakes and a giant thorny vine rises out of the ground and wraps the wolf. Lily watches the wolf struggling in the giant vine. She looks at her hands and cries.The vine slowly lowers down and lays the wolf down. The other wolves run away. The vine slowly withers away and the wolf beside it tries to get up. Me and Aydan run to help Lily up. The wolf whimpers and when it finally gets up it falls back down. Lily rushes to the wolf and helps it up. It growls at Lily as she picks it up. She looks at the blood stained fur she has caused. She puts it down next to the creek. We watched her splash water on the wolf and went down to help her. The wolf whimpered thinking we were going to hurt it. Lily washes the wolf from the bloody scars. It stared at her looking confused. She was also confused about how she could have done this.

After we helped the wolf it started to turn dark so we looked for shelter. We found a small cave under a cliff so we went inside. Aydan set down the wolf in the back of the cave. Lily and I gathered some firewood. I strike 2 rocks together constantly but nothing happens. I start to stress out because I couldn't make a fire."What's taking so long?" Aydan says settling down the injured wolf. "It's not like I can snap my fingers and get a fire going!" I answered stressed by the fire. As I snap my fingers a small spark appeared between them and fell in the pile of wood. The fire grew as I stare astonished by what happened."This is officially the weirdest day of my life..."Aydan said staring at the fire.

We rested from our surprisingly weird day. When the moon rose a shadowy figure appeared at the entrance of the cave. The wolf looks at the entrance and growls. Me and Aydan wake up to find a bear at the door. The bear roars as we stand up to defend Lily. Lily groans and suddenly a wall of thorns rises at the entrance blocking the bear from entering. We look at her and question what happened. Aydan gently shakes her to wake her up. Lily wakes up to see the wall of thorns."Did I do that?" Lily said confused. "You're the only one who could have..." Aydan explains to Lily. "Anyway now that we're safe let's get some rest..." I said tired from the bear. We all went to sleep that night thinking we were safe...
