Chapter 4- A new enemy

The next day we went back to the cave. I went with Aydan and Lily to the creek. We put the coins in the water to wash them off and a black hawk tried to dive down and grab mine. I pulled it away before it could get it. "Amethyst! Really..." I paused looking at the eyes of the hawk. They were not purple but pitch black. Lily stared holding her coin close to chest. The hawk had a strong glare at her and started to flap its wings and flew away towards the other camp. "What was that?!" Lily yelled. "I think It might not be who I think it was..." I said. After a bit we went to the cave to she Amethyst sitting down petting Hunter. "Hey! What were you doing?" Aydan yelled at Amethyst. "I was taking care of Hunter..." She replied. "Guys! That wasn't her!" I yelled. "Did you even look at it's eyes!"Amethyst was confused about what we were talking about. "A black hawk attacked us and they thought it was you..." I explained. She thought for a second and replied."It wasn't me but I might know who could have done this..." We went to the other campsite and Amethyst explained to them what happened. "Was this Hades doing?" She asked. "Sounds like it..." Noah answered. "What color was the hawk's eyes?" Cody asked. "Black,...Pitch...Black" I answered. "Definitely Hades... He can shapeshift too..." Emily said. "I never liked him..." Sofia said. Off in the distance, on top of the dead tree sat a black panther staring at us. Lily felt a chill down her spine when she turned around to see it. "Oh...my...gosh..." Lily quietly whispered. Emily turned around as well. When she did we all turned around as well. The panther leaped down from the tree and snuck toward us. Sofia ran behind Cody and peeked from behind him.

The eyes of the panther did not belong to Hades...But they were bright red. Another one came up with dark blue eyes and a gray coat."How many panthers are there?!" Aydan yelled. I stood in front of everyone and snapped my fingers. A small spark hit the ground and I lifted my hands up. As I did the fire grew and I pushed the air in front of me. When I did the fire shot towards the two panthers. They ran as soon as the fire shot. "Where did you learn how to do that?" Aydan asked. I stared at my hands noticing I was not in control. "Jayda...Are you ok?" Lily asked. I turned around and they stared at me in shock. My eyes were red and covered in a small flame. A minute later they turned back slowly but surely. After a bit we sat down next to their fire.

Amethyst started to tell a story about spirit animals. She said that each coin had a spirit animal depending on the person's personality. She also said that no one has ever found this out so this could just be a myth. Aydan stared at his coin thinking if it was true. Lily and I thought the same thing. She thought if we even had spirit animals then what would they be? Afterwards we went to the cave to eat. When we got there we saw Hunter on the ground. Lily went to check if he was still breathing. He was but when she got over there she saw a claw mark down his right eye, all the fish were gone, and the fire was put out. She woke up Hunter seeing claw marks down his back and legs. She evaded the cave with Hunter to the creek and Aydan followed. I stayed to start the fire again, and that's when I noticed I wasn't alone. A giant boa fell from the roof of the cave and onto the fire It slithered out slowly showing no pain of the fire. I striked and I dodged barely. It's eyes were black and it's scales were bright red down it's back. When it attacked a second time I grabbed it's neck and threw it out of the door and shut it. That's when I remembered the eyes belonged to Hades... I heard the boa transform and I looked through the window. The snake was now a wolf that was completely black. When I saw it go into a shadow it almost disappeared.

Lily and Aydan came back and Hunter looked much better. Aydan was holding two fish in his hands. He ran to the bowl and dropped them in. Lily asked why I looked terrified. I answered with the news of Hades attacking me and Hunter. Soon after Lily started to get mad. She knew that Hades was surely the enemy. Lily rushed to the camp noticing that Hades wasn't there. She went to talk to Cody (because he was the leader) to tell him about Hades. "That's it! Hades has run out of chances!

He can't just attack people like that!" He replied to Lily. Cody went to find Hades in the forest. Aydan and I were able to catch up with him and Lily. We found Hades in the forest rubbing a tree. The tree slowly turned black and died. He turned around to see us. He stared at us with a evil glare, smiling like he knew we were coming. A bright purple glow blinded us as Hades shape-shifted into a hawk. As the light faded, he escaped and Lily walked up to the dead tree. It looked blackened like a fire started right on top of it. Lily fell to the ground and began to feel the roots of the tree. Suddenly the ground shook and small vines grew down the tree. The tree started to turn brown again and the vines wrapped around the branches and grew down to look like leaves grew. She looked and her hands and smiled. She has given this tree life and now it looks beautiful. I walked up to the tree and I was about to touch it when I remembered my power was not friendly to plants. Aydan looked at Lily and walked up to the tree. He touched it and looked sternly at where Hades disappeared. "For some weird reason I think we found the villain to this story..." Aydan explained to Cody still standing there. We walked back and started to talk about Hades and how this is getting too intense. "Hades has attacked us multiple times. But why?" I said to them. "He wouldn't do this for fun, especially now that we are here." Aydan explained as well. "Maybe... Maybe He's after the coins... Right?" Lily asked. "Lily's got a point...

Every sense you found the coins, He has been disappearing more often than usual..." Cody pointed out to us. Noah and Emily came and sat down and Amethyst flew down as a hawk. Cody explained that if Hades returned to tell him immediately. They nodded and they talked about the panthers coming back while we were gone. Two hawks circled above us, one was gray and the other black. Lily looked up and saw them. "Hey guys..." Lily warned. "What? Oh..." Aydan said looking up. Everyone looked up and the hawks dived down. They both shifted leaving two extremely bright lights blinding us. The world went black as I fell to the ground. I wake up to find myself in the cave with Amethyst. She was heavily breathing turning to check the window.

"What...What happened..." I asked with a strong headache. "They... They took everyone.." She replied sitting down. When she sat down, I saw claw marks down her face and legs. "Amethyst!" I said, rushing to help her. She groaned as cold water runned down her scars. "What happened!?" I said pouring the last bit of the water. "I don't know... When I got there you and the others were on the ground and a lion came at you. I tried to get the others but..." she answered, closing her eyes. "Are they ok?!" I asked concerningly. "I don't know... All I know was that when I came back it attacked me..." She answered. "Wait... What color was it?" I asked. "It was hard to tell, but I think it was a dark brown or black." She answered. "Hades..." I groaned sitting down next to her. Hunter lifted his head and growled towards the door. I stood up and looked out the window to see nothing. "Well, It's just a false alar-AH!" I screamed as a black lion launched at the window. It clawed at the door multiple times and then jumped on it. Just then a light blinded us. After the light faded, I saw the broken door laid down on the ground with Hades standing on it. He stares with crazed glare and smile. "You should have stayed home..."
