Yes, the guy who just walked in. Dustin.

Tall guy, slick hair, pretty eyes, looks neat especially with his shades on, and oh gosh, drop dead handsome, especially when he chuckles and his cute little dimples show. Oh, did I forget to mention that I'm crushing on him? Yep, I am. In fact, I've got a crush on him since high school. We've been classmates since elementary but of course during that time, girls would say 'eww' to boys and boys would do the same to girls. And he wasn't really attractive during that time. I mean, he was thin, scroungy most of the time from playing tag the whole recess, and would pick on girls for the fun of it. I was part of the unlucky ones who got the taste of his 'wrath'. He would pull my hair tie then fling it like a rubber band, or grab my pencil case and hoard my pens and crayons. He was annoying af. I hated him for being such a typical  irritating human being.

But when we got into high school, everything changed. He's become a heartthrob. He was still annoying, but he transitioned from a plain boy to a handsome guy. Girls stopped hating him. He's still playful like his usual self, but he is a smooth talker. No wonder girls started to fall for him. Even...me.

But....of course, he doesn't know about it. No one knows that I like him actually. Not even my friends. Why didn't I tell them? Because...I'm too shy to admit...that I'm crushing on a guy that I swore I would never like.

After ordering their drinks, they sat down at a table across me.

"Dude, after this, let's go to my house. My Xbox is waiting for us!" Martin said.

"Pass muna ako dude, class pa ko." DJ sighed.

"Boo, KJ! C'mon man, it's just one class."

"Dude, naka-ilang absent na ako sa class na yan. Isa na lang at drop na ko. Kung magkataon, makakatikim pa ako nang mas nakakatakot na drop galing kay dad. Hay." He sighed again.

And it is true, he's often absent in some of our classes and I can feel as if our professors are dying to fail him because of his tardiness which leads to failing grades. By the way, we're taking up the same course, BS Biological Sciences. And I tell you, failing this course is much easier than passing it.

After 30 minutes of chilling, his friends decided to go.

"So paano ba yan, dito ka na lang muna? Loser. Hahaha" Jason teased.

"Ulol! Sige, enjoy kayo. I'll just stay here til my class starts. I'll catch up on you guys later. Good boy mode muna ako." he said with a grin on his face. And yep, I saw that because I glance at him once in a while. Hehe #ninjamoves

"Sure, whatev. See ya!" Lance said and they bid goodbye.

He was just there, slowly sipping his coffee, earphones attached to his ears, and his eyes glued on his phone. I can just stare him like this the whole day. But,now that I've thought about it...if I'm here staring at him...is it also possible that he has noticed me? Did I  ever catch his attention?

I mean, yes he has noticed me before way back in elementary, but now it's a different set up. We've grown up. He's upgraded and...I Dunno, have I upgraded too? I guess not. I don't like being flashy and being the center of attention, which is why I'm still the same, plain, simple Kate everyone knows. Including him. Who doesn't notice me. Ugh, forget it.

I looked out the window and noticed that the sky started to look gloomy. Looks like it's gonna rain. Good thing, I've got an umbrella. I glanced at him again and he's still at his same position, still glued to his phone, not looking up at all. Hmmm...dreamy.

I still got an hour to go so I went back to my reading. Rain started to pour outside. At 2:45pm, I decided to go. Rain has poured harder. I got up, gathered my things, and walked by pass him.

"See ya, Kate!" Kevin the barista waved goodbye at me.

"Yeah, thanks!" I replied.

As I stepped out of the cafe, I was greeted by a gust of cold wind. I was about to go when someone grabbed my shoulder.

"Kate!"
..........
"D...Dustin?" I muttered.
